I. Objective:

Divide 3-to-4 digit numbers by 10 without remainder.

remainder

2. Presentation:
Present this situation to the class

Lance and Kate help their mother make 100 ice candies to be given to their 10
friends. How many ice candies will each friend received?

What kind of children are Lance and Kate?


Do you think their mother will be happy to Lance and Kate helping her?

3. Learning activities:
 Group the pupils into 3 groups and let them choose their own leader .
Group 1- Answer the word problem.
Mr. Estremos Distributed 5000 pieces of dried bangus to 10 sar-sari stores
here in Punta, Biao Cogon, Digos city. How many dried bangus did each sar-
sari store received?
Group 2- Group the 200 longs by 10.
Group 3- Find the quotient of 300 ÷ 10 and compose a song and dance.

4. Generalization:
Lead the pupils to generalize as follows:
To divide numbers by 10 , used long method or short method. Using the
short method cancel/remove zeros in the dividend as there are in divisor. Then
divide the remaining numbers.

5. Application:
Let the pupils complete the table.
