Story 1:

The story is about a mother who had lost a child in an industrial accident. The story begins
with the mother working in a textile factory, where all the workers are isolated and are
somewhat dehumanised. To find comfort herself from this isolated environment, she begins
writing a book giving her child a different ending. After reading the book, she at first felt
happy, but shortly realises that the death of her child in real life overwhelms the character
she wrote - What seems more real to her is her own child.

Story 2:

The story is about a writer, Patricia Highsmith, who was an American novelist and short
story writer, best known for her 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley - a psychological
thriller. The story starts off with Highsmith walking home. As she walks home, she feels
someone is behind her. She hears shuffles. As she looked back, she however does not find
anybody behind her. She keeps walking but still feels someone is behind her. She feels that
the person following her has a similar walking style with her serial killer character, Mr
Ripley. She tries to discard this thought thinking it is absurd, but feels uneasy. After arriving
home and going to sleep, she hears someone unlocking the door and creeping near her bed.
She quickly opens the lights and scream, “Mr Ripley, is that you?!” She finds that the person
standing in front of her is indeed Mr Ripley, only that Mr Ripley is not a male but a female,
which is shocking.
