held on Saturday, March 9, 2017 and we must be present prior to our performance time given by the coordinator. We have read and understood
the rules and regulations, failure to comply will result in disqualification from the competition.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All groups/bands who wish to participate must complete and submit the registration form and profile of their group/band by Thursday,
February, 16,2017 by close of business 6:00 p.m.

2. All performers must consist of 3 up to 6 members in order to compete. A profile must be completed and submitted along with the
registration form provided. The profile consists of group/band member names, group/band name, and two to three sentences describing the
group/band who will be participating in the competition.

4. All groups/bands will be allotted five (5) minutes for setup and another fifthteen (15) minutes for the chosen song with sound. Bands must not
exceed fifthteen (15) minutes during the performance or else 5 pointS will be deducted from the overall score every minute over the time
specified. Group/Bands members must appear Thirty (30) minutes prior to performance to check in. over all twenty (20) minutes is allotted per
band.

5. Songs must be suitable and comprised for all ages and cannot contain lyrics implying any distasteful behavior that includes: vulgarity, sex,
drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and racism to include costume attire. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal and disqualification.

6. Judging is done on a 1-10 scale by 4 judges. The 5 criteria on which the bands will be judged is:
 Technical Proficiency: instruments, difficulty of riffs (30%)
 Musicality: clarity of sound, pitch-tone-beat-rhythm, blend, balance (30%)
 Creativity: originality, band creativity, song construction (20%)
 Performance: preparedness, expressiveness ,Overall look, quality of performance (10%)
 Audience Appeal: audience connection (10%)

7. College of Saint Adeline will not be held liable or accountable for any broken equipment, injuries, or any other negative occurrence.

8. Scores will be back to zero In the event that there is a tie, both bands will play their reserved song to battle it out.

Competition Information

Band Set Up
 You will have one stage to set up and use for your performance.
 Please remember that you are responsible for providing your own instruments, amplifiers, cables and drum sticks.
 There will be a limited number of microphones available.

Judging Process
 COLLEGE OF SAINT ADELINE

There are to be a minimum of three (2) Musicality and Performance Judges.

♦ Each Musicality and Performance Judge will complete one (1) judging sheet per band.
There will be one (1) Timing and Penalties Judge who is separate from the Musicality and Performance Judges.
♦ This judge should be totally impartial and willing to make the hard decisions as needed.
♦ Each Timing and Penalties Judge will complete one (1) judging sheet per band.
There should only be one (1) person keeping possession of the completed tally sheets. Two (2) additional people
will assist with counting and tallying the judges scores.
♦ Keep these papers in case there are any questions about the scoring.

Please go over the judging sheets with the Judges prior to the start of the
competition. Answer any questions they may have and make sure they all
understand what they are judging.
