Guidelines for Zero Waste Management

In keeping with the school’s continued effort to minimize non-biodegradable wastes

and accumulate as little recyclable items as possible, the following guidelines will be
implemented for the S.Y. 2019-2020 and the next years in San Isidro Senior High
School.

1. Single-use plastics are prohibited (disposable water bottle, plastic cutleries,

disposable plastic plates, plastic straws, plastic cups). Commonly used reusable
microwave oven safe food containers are also not allowed. While they are reusable,
it easily cracks and are eventually not reusable for long term use.

2. Eating containers made of paper also have inner linings of thin wax which are
non-biodegradable. Thus, this is not also allowed.
3. Everybody is asked to bring their own eating (plates, spoon and fork, bowls,
drinking glass and dishwashing soaps).
4. For a small fee, eating utensils will be available for rent in the gym area should you
opt not to bring any.
5. Dishwashing areas are available at the gym. Restroom sinks will not be used for
this purpose.
6. Water refilling stations will be provided. No bottled water will be sold.
7. Bring your own eco bag for your own purchases.
8. Vendors should have their own bins and manage their own wastes.
9. Large bins for wastes will be available all around the campus for proper waste
disposal. Ensure that you put your waste in the correct bin.
10. Each class is expected to clean their respective areas during clean upp time after
the closing activity.
