1. What is Communication?

~“communication is the process of passing information and

understanding from one person to another.” In simple words it is a process of
transmitting and sharing ideas, opinions, facts, values etc. from one person to another
or one organization to another

2.What is the Elements of Communication? ~ The Elements of

Communication are the following:

(a.) Speaker : the source of information or message

(b.) Message : the informations, ideas, or thoughts conveyed by the speaker in

words or actions

(c.) Encoding : the process of converting the message into words, actions, or
other forms that the speaker understand

(d.) Channel : the medium or the means, such as personal or non personal,
verbal or non verbal, in which the encoded message is conveyed

(e.) Decoding : the process of interpreting the encoded message of the

speaker by the receiver

(f.) Receiver : the recepient of the message, or someone who decodes the
message

(g.) Feedback : the reactions, responses, or information provided by the

receiver

(h.) Context: the environment where communication take place

(i.) Barrier : the factors that affect the flow of v

communication

3. What is Communication Process?

~The communication process is the steps we take in order to successfully

communicate. The goal of communication is to convey information—and the
understanding of that information—from one person or group to another person or
group.

4. Differentiate Communication to Communication process

 ~ the communication is the process of passing information and understanding from
one person to another while the Communication process is the steps we take in order to
successfully communicate.

5. Functions of Communications

~Functions of Communication are:

1.CONTROL-Communication functions to control behavior

2.SOCIAL INTERACTION-Communication allows individuals to interact with others

3.MOTIVATION-Communication motibates or encourages people to live better.

4.EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION-Communication facilities peoples expression of their

feelings and emotions

5.INFORMATION DISSEMINATION-Communication functions to convey information.
