a. Dynamic, Flexible, & Adaptive –

oCulture is dynamic - culture are
constantly changing through
 inventions, improvement and
borrowing from other societies.
oCulture is adaptive – is
continually changing.
b. Shared & Contested (given the reality of
social differentiation) –
 oSocial differentiation – the process by which
different statues develop in any group,
organization or society.
c. Learned through socialization or
enculturation
 oSocialization – is the process by which we
learn and internalize the rules and patterns
of behavior that are affected by culture.
oEnculturation – is the process by which
youngsters learn and adopt the ways and
manners of their culture.
d. Patterned social interactions
oSocial interaction – is the process by which
people act and react in relation to others.
