NATIONAL CONVENTION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF SPORTS PSYCHOLOGISTS


AND PHYSICAL EDUCATORS OF THE PHILIPPINES (ASPPEP)

The Association of Sports Psychologists and Physical Educators of the


Philippines (ASPPEP) will hold its National Convention with the theme Introducing
Athletic Counseling in Physical Education: Its Concepts, Methodology and Benefits on
November 16-17, 2012 at the Enrique Razon Sports Complex, De La Salle University
(DLSU), Manila.

The Convention will start with the presentation of the concepts and issues of
athletic counseling. Various academicians and practitioners of athletic counseling and
physical education will share their professional experiences and expertise. The topics
to be discussed during the workshops are the following:
1. Managing Conflict and Stress as it Happens;
2. Introduction to Psychological Skills Training (PST): It’s All in the
Mind;
3. Enhancing Sports Performance Through Goal Setting; and
4. Counseling in the Sports Setting.

Expected participants to this activity are physical educators and athletic


counselors.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-
disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance
Therewith.
