II. HOW IT IS RELATED TO SCIENCE
Sports are the physical activities done by people that help to improve systems of your body.
These activities develop one’s skills, abilities and talents and it can also help you maintain
physically fit. Recreation activities are activities you can do (whatever you want) when you are
not working. This can perceives people to be less stressful, both physically and mentally health.
Both activities can be used to have fun and during leisure time which includes soccer, basketball,
volleyball, tennis, swimming, cycling and mountain biking, dancing, aerobics, hockey, golf, ice
skating, running, listening to music and more. Sport is related to Science from its activities,
athlete’s performance, physical health and mental health.
A Sports Science is an application of scientific principles to sport and sports training, with the
aim to improve sporting performance. It studies how the human body works during exercise, and
how sport and physical activity promote health and performance do to the human body. The
study of Sports Science embodies the areas of physiology, psychology (sport psychology),
biomechanics and medicine (Sports Medicine).
Exercise Physiology- is the study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to
human body movement and how the stress of exercise affects the human body.
Biomechanics- is the study of the laws of physics as applied to physical activity, exercise and
sport. It can be used to explain how the bones, muscles and joints react under certain conditions
and to improve performance using motion analysis techniques.
Sports Medicine- The field of sports medicine encompasses not only sports physicians, but
physiotherapists, physical therapists, massage therapists and podiatrists involved in maintaining
an athlete’s fitness and physical well being. There is a range of sports medicine information,
including a collection of stretching exercises.
Sport Psychology — a sports psychologist works with athletes to achieve their optimum mental
health and well being, ultimately to improve their sporting performance. They may deal with
athletes who are recovering from injury, who are under performing, struggling with pressure, or
help to improve their motivation.
Sports Nutrition — the primary aim of the sports dietitian or nutritionist is to use a range of
dietary strategies to maximize performance, commonly through individual and group/team
nutrition counseling and education sessions.

III. TECHNOLOGY USED OR UTILIZED

Through the use of technology the world of sport is continually changing over the years.
Technology is revolutionizing sports training by live tracking performance, perfecting athletic
movements, enhancing communication and virtually eliminating injuries. Here are some
technology used in sports:
 HAWK-EYE TECHNOLOGY
- The name of computer and camera system which traces a ball’s trajectory. It is being used in
international cricket, tennis and other
sports.
- The hawk eye uses a camera taking
600 frames a second on the goal-line,
with the information analyzed by
computer and sent to the referee’s
headset or the device on his wrist.

 COMPUTER SOFTWARE
- Numerous software packages are designed for fitness and nutrition professionals to
organize data and produce reports. Examples are:
- TEAM BEEP TEST

– the most versatile and useful software for conducting and recording results of the bleep/beep
test, with results recorded directly onto your computer.
- BODYBYTE
- a universal standalone computer software program specially developed to comprehensively
organize and manage all the information associated with nutrition, training and fitness.
 FITNESS TRACKER

- is a device or application for monitoring and tracking fitness-related metrics such as distance
walked or run, calorie consumption, and in some cases heartbeat.
 VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)

- is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world.
Applications of virtual reality can include entertainment (i.e. video games) and educational
purposes.
 GPS WATCH
- is commonly a sport watch. A device used for sports and exercise in general rather than just
GPS functionally. It may be designed for one particular sport or other purpose, or provide
modes and features to suit several.
 SMART HELMET

-It could spot concussions. Within seconds of a player being hit, everyone will know whether or
not he’s suffered a concussion
Technology plays a vital role in the human being particularly in the field of sports. It helps to
avoid mistakes in various sports. Technology shows accurate results, then it should be used to
make right decisions.

IV. RELATION TO SOCIETY

Like culture and art, recreation, leisure and sports activities play an important role in
communities. Their many benefits include improving the health and well-being of individuals,
contributing to the empowerment of individuals, and promoting the development of inclusive
communities. Recreation, leisure and sports activities may involve individuals, small groups,
teams or whole communities and are relevant to people of all different ages, abilities and levels
of skill. The types of recreation, leisure and sports activities people participate in vary greatly
depending on local context, and tend to reflect the social systems and cultural values.
Participation in recreation, leisure and sports activities may be one of the few opportunities
people with disabilities have to engage in community life beyond their immediate families.

V. CONCLUSION

There is no doubt that sports and recreation is an important part of our lives. It does not only
strengthen our physical being but also our psychological, emotional and mental well-being.
Sports and recreation also gives a lot of benefits to our health and wellness and creates
opportunities to those who excel in the field. On the other hand, sports and recreation doesn't
stand alone because it is related to science. There are 3 parts of Sports and recreation that is
related to Science, Technology and Society. Science is related to this because it has disciplines
that improves the application on both sports and recreation. This includes the proper ways of
exercising, doing a sport, and other health and wellness related activities that will improve our
well-being. Technology helps a sports and recreation by live tracking performance, perfecting
athletic movements, enhancing communication and virtually eliminating injuries and etc. And
also this is the easiest way to show the results of each game. Society we have a benefits it can
give a positive influence of in many areas, improves a social skills along worth promoting
physical health. By participating in any other sports can develop a healthy living habit,
coordination, physical fitness and strength. If we apply the three parts Sports and creation
related, it will be more meaningful to us.

Each and every one of us has a human act. Human act is a conscious act that is
actually done by man/human. In every act we do, it has corresponding duties or
obligations to make, or what we called our “responsibilities” as human being. All
of us must know our responsibilities as human. Different people. Different act.
Different responsibility. In human act, we have the freedom to act or to choose
whatever we want to but not to the extent that we tend to forget our
responsibilities. As a human/person, we must know our limitations even though
we have our freedom and we should be ready for the consequences we might
take in every actions.

Me as a person, I am responsible in my every actions but sometimes I tend to

forget being responsible. I am responsible in a way that I know what am I doing
and when I know and accept the consequences of my actions. As a human
being, I know my responsibilities as a student, as a daughter, as a
granddaughter, as a sister, as a follower and all. But sometimes I think I am
being irresponsible in a way of my habit in gadgets because sometimes I am
more focus in social media instead of doing my responsible act. But I am trying to
limit it now. So all in all, I am more responsible of the things I do/ make.

At this age, I should know the outcome of my every action and know the
corresponding consequences so that I will learn from every bit of my action.

I should know things how to handle it responsibly so that at the end of the day, I
won’t regret the actions I took.

MEMORANDUM

A memorandum, more commonly known as a memo, is a short message or record used

for internal communication in a business. Once the primary form of internal written
communication, memorandums have declined in use since the introduction of email and
other forms of electronic messaging; however, being able to write clear memos certainly
can serve you well in writing internal business emails, as they often serve the same
purpose.

A memo (or memorandum, meaning “reminder”) is normally used for communicating

policies, procedures, or related official business within an organization.

Purpose of Memos

Memos can be used to quickly communicate with a wide audience something brief but
important, such as procedural changes, price increases, policy additions, meeting
schedules, reminders for teams, or summaries of agreement terms, for example.

Writing Effective Memos

Communications strategist Barbara Diggs-Brown says that an effective memo

is "short, concise, highly organized, and never late. It should anticipate and answer all
questions that a reader might have. It never provides unnecessary or confusing
information."

Be clear, be focused, be brief yet complete. Take a professional tone and write as if the
world could read it—that is, don't include any information that's too sensitive for
everyone to see, especially in this age of copy and paste or "click and forward."

Format

Start with the basics: to whom the article is addressed, the date, and the subject line.
Start the body of the memo with a clear purpose, state what you need the readers to
know, and conclude with what you need readers to do, if necessary. Remember that
employees may just skim the memo upon receipt, so use short paragraphs, subheads,
and where you can, use lists. These are "points of entry" for the eye so the reader can
refer back easily to the part of the memo that he or she needs.
