Lesson Title: Assimilating the Eiffel Tower in TinkerCAD

Curriculum Framework Unit: Unit 1: Introduction to Programming for beginners in programming

foundations

Standards: Programming

• Printing functions
• Programing in TinkerCAD
• Acceptable measurements
• Problem solving skills
• Social skills
• Integration of geometry

Learning Objective:

Students will be able to…

1. Construct an Eiffel Tower in TinkerCAD program

2. Work in groups
3. Create a method to create the tower
4. Use appropriate dimensions and shapes for the tower
5. Apply critical thinking
6. Have a general understanding of what programming is.
7. Present to the class their results
8. And be able to explain how they obtain to construct the tower

Learning Activities:

The students will watch the video and fill out the graphic organizer to serves as a reference for them in
order to gather their thoughts on how they will work on the project. The video demonstrates how
TinkerCAD works and in the video, he shows how to construct the Eiffel tower using shapes in the
program as well as giving tips for the project. They will work in groups for 2-3, and will have 2 to three
days, depending on class progress, to construct a similar tower to the one presented in the video. After
finishing the project, they should have a completed project and a good grasp on what programing is.
They will present to the class their end results as well as mention how they approached the project.
Assessment Evaluation:

The student will evaluate their understanding on basic programming and get a general grasp as to what
is programing is. The students will complete the graphic organizer to serve as their reference for their
project. The graphic organizer will be completed and answered that correlate to the video on
TinkerCAD. they will also have me to ask questions on the program or any other question they might
have about computer science.
