O-Plant: Make it Green!

I.

A.

Looking closely around, we've noticed that the school canteen is slowly
becoming a waiting area where students stayed at to kill time, make unfinished schoolworks,
read books and meet with their friends or groupmates to talk about some matter. Hence, the O-
Plant: Make it Green!

O-Plant: Make it Green is a project aiming to lessen the students wandering

around the campus because they have no place to stay. We are rooting for a garden inside the
campus where plastic bottles will be valuable since these will serve as an entrance fee in order
for the students to be able to stay. The plastic bottles will then be recycled to produce more
chairs for each rooms as a replacement for the damaged chairs. This project is not just aiming for
a green surrounding but also for a peaceful and better university.

Our group believed that Arellano University is capable of being more eco-
friendly campus. We have made our project O-Plant: Make it Green! to make the campus green,
to give value to plastic bottles being thrown away anywhere and to give an alternative place to
those students who are tired of staying on crowded areas of the school premises.

B.

Arellano University is becoming populated due to the K-12 program that leads
to a more crowded and a bit unorganized campus.

C.

We’ve noticed that the school library is not that spacious enough to
accommodate large number of students who wants to utilize the place, this reason makes them
occupy the school canteen leaving those who wants to eat with nowhere to go.

D.

Methods:

 Constructing a garden to promote a nature-friendly university.

 Promoting the value of plastic bottles and a green surrounding.
 Providing a temporary shelter for the students who are longing for a refreshing location to
stay.
 Making a solution in school chairs in the form of recycling plastic bottles.

Since mostly rely on social media, we on the other hand will use anything we
can to spread and make sure that we carefully informed everyone around the school premises.
For instance, we will distribute flyers, post placards and visit every classroom to inform them
personally about our project, O-Plant: Make it Green!

B.

Mid-March 2019: sign a lease for the space of O-Plant: Make it Green!

Late March 2019: purchase materials needed

Early April 2019: prepare the location

Mid-April 2019: start of construction

C.

 Sharing fliers, placards and other notices on the school's bulletin board, library, canteen
and even in front of the school.
 Request an article about our said project to be featured in Arellano University paper.
 Introduce our project to each rooms of the school and to Arellano University online
pages.

This project will help the university be clean and green. We best believe that
it has so much to offer not just plain shelter, but also to give relaxation to the students, lessen
their stress for the ambiance gives a soothing vibe and decreasing the number of students simply
wandering around the campus mindlessly. We aim to make the school and the students look
more organized and disciplined. We will not let this sanctuary be their reason of skipping classes
for we will set rules and regulations before entering, provide a disciplinarian or rather an officer
in charge, to make sure that we will not leave the place unguarded. Looking at the bright side of
it, with this, we helped the canteen house more customers, the library less crowded and avoid the
students be seen walking around while the classes are on going.
