1. Diploma Course

The Diploma programme is one year duration followed by one month training in Food Industry. To gain
floor experience, one month training in the food industry as well as exposure visits to the food industries
are integral part of the diploma programme.

One month In-Plant Training in Food Industry – 4(0+4)

Eligibility criteria :
10+2 or equivalent (Candidates from Science Stream will be given preference over arts or commerce
stream)

2. Certification Course

Duration : 4 months

Skills to be provided

The skill of selecting, handling and use of equipment.

The skill of selecting the raw material, quality testing and use.

The skill of preparation of different preserved products, technical do's and dont's

Identical faults and making necessary remedies to get a good product

Skill of costing and fixing the selling prices

Eligibility Criteria: 10th pass

Admission procedure
The candidates will be admitted to diploma as well as certificate course as per merit list prepared on the
basis of I.Sc / 10+2 & 10th standard, respectively

Seats and Reservation

There are 10 seats in both the courses and both men and women will be eligible for admission. The
reservation policy of the State Government is followed.

Application for admission shall be made to the Dean (Agri.), B.A.U. Ranchi – 834006 on a prescribed
form which may be obtained from the Department of Home Science, Faculty of Agriculture, BAU, Ranchi
