Project Proposal

I. Purpose

The earth is entitled as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. Unfortunately, the
realm of the earth suffering several problems which should be solved before it is too late. Plastic
may be one of the most versatile materials on the planet, but it is also one of the worst pollutants
causing unprecedented damage to the world's delicate ecosystems but it is one of the problems
facing our planet is the plastic pollution. People from the past invented plastics. It is a miracle
material that has made modern life possible – imagine when the Pilgrims sailed from England to
North America their plastic trash would possibly still be around, that is how plastic can be exist
for a long time. Globally, plastics can literally be seen everywhere – it is in the air, the wind, the
water, the soil, and or in as many places as it looks. They have an important place in our world but
not in our environment. Although, the plastics have changed the world today, it is drastically
increased the consumption of plastics.

The flow of plastic waste into the environment can be eliminate through creating a new
product made from plastics specifically the plastics bottles. It is not totally eliminated but it can
reduce the rapid growth of plastics – the student proposers would like to propose an activity in
relation to this year’s Science and Mathematics month theme "Metabolized: Nourishing the
Filipino Youth towards National Well-Being," called Botelya Salva – which means save the
bottles. Recycling plastic bottles conserves energy and natural resources, reducing petroleum and
natural gas consumption and the resulting greenhouse gas emissions In Saint Joseph School
Foundation Incorporated there are numerous plastic bottles this activity can immensely help to
reduce the plastic pollution. It is not just creating new product instead it is the way to slowly save
the production of plastics, globally.

Botelya Salva is an activity where each strands of Senior High School should have a six
to ten students to represent their strands. The given representatives are enough to perform the said
activity. It will be held at the Saint Joseph School Gymnasium on September 21, 2019.

II. Objectives

The said activity will definitely be beneficial to the students especially to the school and
administration. The following objectives are the advantages of the said activity:

Cleanliness in School

Plastic bottles are one of the factors that affects the cleanliness in the environment. Plastic bottles,
of course, is uniquely problematic because it is non-biodegradable and therefore sticks around for
a lot longer than other forms of trash. The use of plastic bottles as a material in this project will
surely help maintaining the cleanliness in this school. The more plastic bottles that will be use the
bigger the chance, the environment of the school will improve. It may decrease the number of
plastic bottles in the school, for instance, the new product created by the students can be used for
the improvement and innovation of the school. The school will also consider as an eco-friendly.
The said activity will be beneficial to the school campus of Saint Joseph School Foundation Inc.
(SHSFI) by disposing plastic bottles. It will enhance the cleanliness of the school campus by
collecting, recycling plastic bottles and making a new product that can be useful in the school
campus.

The Improvement of the Student’s Creativity

There are numerous ways to transform plastic waste into new products once more, significantly
increasing the usable lifespan of plastic while simultaneously reducing the need for new plastics
and removing some that already exists within the world. By doing this project, the creativity of
the students will enhance since they will be thinking on what they should do to improvise the
plastic bottles and make it as a useful material. Moreover, the said activity will also test the critical
thinking skills of the students through creativity and is to innovate plastic bottles into a useful
material which will be helpful in maintaining the cleanliness of our surroundings.

The Relationship of the Students

The activity is also expected to strengthen the bond and unity in a certain class by
brainstorming, sharing ideas and being open to anyone's suggestion. This is project obviously
requires a leader who will lead the whole class in doing the activity. This will also test the
leadership of the students and the cooperation of the class.

III. Project Design

Before the Event

1. Preparation of the program (plan and flow of the event).

2. Create a PowerPoint presentation about the said event. This may include where, when,
how, why, and what is the project is all about.
3. Find sponsors for the materials needed in the activity.
4. Permission for the approval to use the venue for the said event.
5. Announcement of the event to the participants (if approved).
During the Event

1. Preparation of the materials (7:00am-7:29am)

2. Orientate the students for the event (7:30am-8:00am).
3. Start the activity (8:00am-9:30am)
4. Snack break (9:30am-9:50am)
5. Resume the activity (9:50am-12:00nn)
6. Lunch break (12:00nn-1pm)
7. Resume the activity (1:00pm-4:30pm)
8. Submission of products produce (4:35pm-4:45pm)
9. The participants will clean their designated places (4:45pm-5:00pm)
10. End of the activity (5:10pm)

After the Event

1. Judgement of innovations (Sunday, September 22, 2019)

2. Announcement of the winners (Monday, September 23, 2019)
3. The products produced by the participants will be given to the school
(Monday, September 23, 2019)

IV. Project Needs

Participants

To fulfill one of the project needs of the event “botelya salva” it needs participants to
participate in the event. The senior high school Students of Saint Joseph School Foundation Inc.
(SJSFI) will be asked for their cooperation for this project to be a successful one. The event needs
six to ten students of each strands of Senior high school to represent their own strands.

Materials

The event need materials for the participants to use. The materials needed for this project
are the plastic bottles that will be provided by the participants for it to be more challenging.
Scissors, for cutting purposes, glue gun or other adhesive materials for binding purposes. And
other materials for decoration are provided by the organizers of the botelya salva event.

Budget plan

In doing any event, expenses are always observed whether it is high or low expenses. For
this event the organizer of the botelya salva event need sufficient money to support the event. The
project need sponsors for the expenses of the materials, snacks and sound systems that will be use
in the event.
