❖ Spelling, grammar, parts of speech
❖ Complete Sentences
❖ Book Genres
❖ Point of View
❖ Characterization
❖ Theme, conflict, tone, mood
❖ Figurative Language
❖ Book Clubs
❖ And MUCH MORE!

My expectations:
● Have a positive attitude
● Be prepared for class
● Bring all required materials to class
● Don’t disrupt others who are learning
● Respect your teachers and classmates
● Have fun!

Homework:
Homework is due at the beginning of class. It is your responsibility to come in for help if you are
having trouble with an assignment. Absent work should be turned in no later than two days after your
absence to avoid it being counted as late. If you are absent for more than two days, please see me to
discuss a schedule for turning in your absent work.

Late work:
To ensure that your homework is not counted late, please follow directions, complete all the
questions in complete sentences, and make sure it is in class at the beginning of class. There is time set
aside each day for you to get assistance. If you fail to see me, then your homework will be counted late
if not complete. Assignments will only be accepted up to 3 days late, after that, it will be a ZERO in the
gradebook. Projects and papers will not be accepted late because there is ample time to complete these
assignments.

Availability:
I am available before school and after school. Let me know if you would like to stay after school
and we can work out a time that is convenient. If these times do not work for you please let me know
and we will work out a time together. Study Hall and Advisory are wonderful times to receive some help.
The best way to reach me is through email: hmueckenhoff@d15.org (Haley Mueckenhoff) or by calling
the front office. You can find the homework on our team website: https://www.d15.org/Page/1674
