Storage And Handling:

Agion® antimicrobial powder is extremely hygroscopic and will absorb a significant amount of moisture if
left exposed to the air. Processing of “wet” powder may make proper dispersion difficult and lead to
discoloration in some materials. Each lot of Agion® antimicrobial powder has been meticulously dried and
will be provided in airtight metal containers, heat-sealed metallized bags or other low water vapor
transmission packaging to ensure minimal absorption of moisture during shipping. Agion® antimicrobial
powder should be stored in the original packaging in a cool dry environment. Store container unopened
until ready for use. Containers should only be opened for dispensing purposes and proper care must be
taken to keep moisture out when resealing the remaining material. At a minimum, residual air should be
forced out of the storage bag and the bag tightly sealed to minimize moisture absorption. The
recommended practice is to purge the package with nitrogen or dry air before resealing. Incursions into the
containers should be minimized. Agion®antimicrobial powder that has been compromised by absorbing
excessive moisture can be dried using a validated drying procedure. Copies of this procedure can be
provided upon request.

If these practices are followed, unopened containers of Agion® antimicrobial will have a shelf life two (2)
years from the date of shipment from Sciessent to the customer. The product may be sampled periodically
for recertification purposes. Testing parameters must meet initial test specification(s) per acceptable
standard laboratory practices. Once sufficient history is obtained Sciessent may extend shelf life of
products. Products not stored in accordance with these suggestions should be checked for moisture content
prior to use.

Use extreme caution when melt-compounding Agion antimicrobial products into polyacetal (POM)
as liberation of formaldehyde may occur as a result of polymer degradation.

their particular process, application or article of manufacture.
