The SIL Validation expert will conduct a opening
meeting where representatives from client, Siemens
and SIL validation team would be present. In this meeting the Project engineer from Expert team would explain the Process scenario involved, the points of SRS which would be validated and the checklists. Where ever team activity is involved the Expert will
explain their roles and in order to confirm
compliance without engaging in to discussions what activities are required to be checked with respect to documentation. How faults would be introduced and what are the
checks to be done etc.
The Logic solver and DCS should be completely
separate as per latest revision of IEC 61511. Expert
would request Siemens to demonstrate complete independence of DCS and SIS by documentation and internal QA/QC reports. The Loop checking exercise must have been
completed by the time the Validation exercise is
planned,therefore Siemens would produce necessary documentation. FAT documentation to be produced along with
Siemen's internal QA/QC report.
The Expert may add few points in Validation
procedure after review of Site.
On the day 1 and day 2 SIFs would be validated as
per above described program.
The blank checklists would be submitted at the beginning of Validation and completed during the Validation process. The Validation expert would conduct a close out
meeting summering the results of Validation.
Final report would be complied by Expert on return
