TIPS IN CONDUCTING PROJECT WALKTHROUGH

Plan prior to walkthrough 1. Before conducting walkthrough makes sure that there are overall MCC/PMCC plan and a copy of the scope of PMCC been conducted. 2. Before conducting the walkthrough PID inspectors should read and familiarize themselves with GI 2.710. 3. Three days before planning the walkthrough PID should received the Exception item list (EIL) done by the contractor QC inspectors (recommendation). 4. All PMCC should be through MPCS. 5. Make sure that the assigned PID inspectors are included to MPCS During Walkthrough 1. Make sure to have note book to keep the notes. 2. In the note book write in detail about the violation, indicating the specific equipment, marking, location etc. 3. Ensure during official invitation for walkthrough the construction agency (SAPMT) will attach the scope of work for the walkthrough. 4. Check the scope of walkthrough against the PMCC plan. 5. Recommend that prior to PMCC walkthrough, kick off meeting shall be conducted and attended by all organizations (SAPID, SAPMT, Proponent, Loss Prevention, Fire Department etc.) involved in the project wherein, chairman of committee will be assigned (obtain the name of the chairman of the committee). 6. Use the EIL given by QC to verify (add/delete to it). During entering data in MPCS 1. In making the EIL provide the reference such as the scope of work, IFC drawing, Quality plan and applicable Saudi Aramco standards & codes. 2. Be specific with EIL (description and location) and do not enter multi EIL findings in one line item to avoid further delay in closing. There shall be no wishing items recorded in the MPCS unless required by safety. 3. All open QMIS items of non conformities have to be transferred to the MPCS and to be closed in the QMIS with closing comment that this item has been transferred to the MPCS. 4. All open NCRs and work sheets shall be transferred to the MPCS as YES item and closed in the SAP with the comments that the NCR/WS is transferred to MPCS. 5. All Yes items shall be discussed to their immediate supervisor prior to uploading to MPCS. 6. After the input of the EILs in MPCS make sure that PID inspectors have a copies in hard copies (sometimes some EIL items were hold in the system or some items were change in the system without knowing who change it).

Updating EIL in MPCS 1. All new findings have to be added to EIL even if the MPCS was closed (due to early walkthrough most of the installation are not yet been done). 2. Whenever the originator is planning for vacation/leave, he shall transfer all his open items to his reliever in the MPCS. Provide also the EIL in hard copies.

MCC/PMCC Approval/closing MPCS 1. If the chairman changes any item from Yes to NO and we do not agree, we have to document our position by letter, email 2. Check the pending EIL for open Yes items. 3. Supervisor shall send the EIL to the concerned inspector for verification before signing MCC (use the review feature in MPCS to add the inspectors).

4. Inspectors shall before signing/agreeing on the PMCC: Compare the items in MPCS to the EIL he have downloaded before or in hard copies (sometimes some EIL items were hold in the system or some items were change in the system without knowing who change it). Verify all Yes items were closed Verify all NO items were updated 5. ID is the last to sign the MCC/PMCC before the proponent. 6. Upload the approved MCC in the SAP.

Evaluation of QC Inspector 1. Compare the findings done by PID inspectors against the findings by the contractor QC inspectors (this is part of contractor QCs final evaluation). 2. Update the SAP about the performance of the contractor QC personal.

Remarks Yes items are items that are evident danger to company property or personnel safety, and those that may impact the safe commissioning, start up and operation of the facility. Yes items are required to be completed before the mechanical completion certificate is approved by the proponent. NO items generally relate to scope of work items that, if not completed prior to mechanical completion, will not impact the safe commissioning, start up and operation of the facility.
