BANKING MACHINE EMEBEDDED WITH GSM TECHNOLOGY

ABSTRACT:
Having a lot of cash at its disposal, ATMs have always been a target
of fraudsters and hackers. Due to this fact, ATM security has been a prime
concern among banks and financial institutions. It is not easy to hack
ATMs online and threats to ATM security but they can steal 4 digit
password from the user when we withdraw cash from ATM machine or
while using our atm card for purchase in shops, hotels, hospitals..,
otherwise they will use skimming device to read our passwords.

Card skimming is one of these methods criminals commonly use. Card

skimmers are installed on ATMs card reader slot. They have electronic
circuit to read the information on magnetic strip of the card and this
information is stored on card skimmer’s memory. This information is
later copied by the criminals after removing the skimmer from the
ATM..Fraudsters can also install a small camera just above the keypad
of the ATM, which keeps recording user inputs, that includes your
ATM PIN as well.
So, instead of pin based bank withdraw we using biometric
authentication system in ATM to withdraw money from their account. In
a fingerprint secured ATM, customers only need to rest their finger on
scanner surface after presenting the ATM card, and identify gets verified
instantly. There is no need to enter PIN while struggling to hide the
keypad. Fraudsters can steal or copy PINs, but they cannot do the same
with fingerprints. Spoofing fingerprints is a fairly complex process,
which is not always a 100% success. Live finger has many optical,
electrical, and mechanical properties that cannot be presented by a fake
replica or a spoof.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
In present system, the customer is identified by inserting a plastic ATM
card with a magnetic stripe or a plastic smart card with a chip that
contains a unique card number and some security information such as an
expiration date. Authentication is provided by the customer entering a
personal identification number (PIN).
If PIN is correct, the system allows for transaction. Otherwise, the
system asks for PIN again this does not meet full safety in atm
withdraw process.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Instead of pin based bank withdraw we using biometric authentication
system in ATM to withdraw money from their account.Biometric
technology is the most widely accepted and mature biometric method
and is the easiest to deploy and for a higher level of security. It is
simple to install and also it takes little time and effort to acquire one’s
fingerprint with a fingerprint identification device. If wrong finger print
matched the GSM sends message to the customer.
