Fuyu Persimmon Characteristics

Diospyros kaki
Appearance: Wide green leaves; orange fruits
Size: 6'-9' tall; fruits a few inches in diameter

Persimmons are native to China and

1850's. The fibers in Persimmon seeds
are harmful to small mammals such as
dogs, rodents, and even deer. Animals
can develop enlarged small intestines,
obstructions in their gastrointestinal tract
when ingesting the seeds, and these
conditions can even lead to suffocation.
