Learning priority: Develop sense of security and belonging.

Adam, I have noticed that you have been enjoying to be at An-Nur. You have
started to explore An-Nur learning environment indoor and outdoors. Although
you are able explore independently, you still love to be with your older sister
Lamis. Masha Allah you are lucky to have your sister around at An-Nur. I could
see you feel loved and protected whenever you are with your sister.

The other day when you arrived in

and went inside the classroom,
Lamis went and engaged herself
with family play. No wonder you
followed her. You sat beside her and
started to enjoy playing with her.
Actually you didn’t talk to each
other much just felt secured and
happy to be near her. As I noticed
you both of you were enjoying
solitary play alongside each other.

What’s next?
We will help Adam to settle into An-
Nur as individual, to feel secure and
to belong here, be able to choose
experiences independently.
Adam to learn to express his
feelings and needs.
Te Whariki goal: Children and their
families experience an environment
where they feel comfortable with
routines, customs and regular
events (Belonging).
