Life cycle of butterfly

Recently something very exciting happening in our classroom when we found a

few cocoons in our swan plant in our garden. So we brought those and put in our
classroom with a bunch of plant. Since then all the children being watching them
excitedly waiting to see and witness when the butterfly comes out form those
cocoons.
Kholoud, you were one of the children who first noticed the day when one of the
butterfly decided to came out from one of the cocoon. You were so excited. All the
children were so excited that they were screaming with happiness and
excitement. We all have been observing them the whole morning as the new born
butterfly need for a long time to get ready to fly. It was such an exciting day for all
the Tamariki as well as kaiako, masha Allah!

Learning Happening
Raising butterflies in our classroom was a
great way to help children to understand and
observe the life cycle in action. Children
realized that the butterflies go through a
process. Caterpillars hatches from butterfly
eggs, then turn into cocoons, then butterflies
come out of cocoon. Children learn that those
butterflies will soon lay eggs and the life cycle
will start again. Children definitely were
developing knowledge and learning about life
