LEA SALONGA

Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga, (/ˈleɪə səˈlɒŋɡə/; born February 22, 1971) is a Filipina singer
and actress, best known for her roles in musical theatre, for supplying the singing voices of
two Disney Princesses, and as a recording artist and television performer.
At age 18, she originated the lead role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon, first in the West End and
then on Broadway,[3] winning the Olivier and Theatre World Awards, and becoming the first
Asian woman to win a Tony Award.[4] Salonga is the first Filipino artist to sign with an
international record label (Atlantic Records in 1993).
Salonga was the first actress of Asian descent to play the roles of Éponine and Fantine in the
musical Les Misérables on Broadway.[5][6] She also portrayed Éponine and Fantine, respectively,
in the musical's 10th and 25th anniversary concerts in London. She provided the singing voices of
two official Disney Princesses: Jasmine in Aladdin (1992) and Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998). She
was named a Disney Legend in 2011 for her work with The Walt Disney Company.[7] Salonga
starred as Mei-li in the 2002 Broadway version of Flower Drum Song. She has played numerous
other stage, film and TV roles in the US, the Philippines and elsewhere. She has toured widely in
the title role of Cinderella, among other roles, and as a concert artist. From 2015 to 2016, she
returned to Broadway in Allegiance, and from 2017 to 2019 she appeared in the Broadway revival
of Once on This Island
PIA WURTZBACH

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (Tagalog: [wuɾtsˈbak]; German: [ˈvʊʁtsbax]; born September 24, 1989),
formerly known in the Philippine entertainment and modeling industry as Pia Romero, is
a Filipina-German beauty pageant titleholder, model and actress who was crowned Miss Universe
2015 on December 20, 2015. She won the third Miss Universe crown for the Philippines at
the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 pageant on March 15, 2015. She has served as a UNAIDS Goodwill
Ambassador for Asia & the Pacific since 2016.

Wurtzbach is the third Filipina to win the title of Miss Universe, following Gloria Diaz who won
in 1969 and Margarita Moran who won in 1973.
MEGAN YOUNG

Megan Lynne Talde Young (born February 27, 1990) is a Filipino-American actress, model, TV

Host and beauty queen. She won the Miss World Philippines title and was later crowned as Miss

World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia. The American-born Filipino is the first representative of the

Philippines to win the title of Miss World. Young started as a contestant of the reality television

show StarStruck and later became a member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic but she returned as a

contract artist under GMA Network.


MANNY PACQUIAO

Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, PLH (/ˈpækiaʊ/ PAK-ee-ow; Tagalog: [pɐkˈjaʊ]; born


December 17, 1978) is a Filipino professional boxer and politician, currently serving as a Senator
of the Philippines.
He is the only eight-division world champion in the history of boxing,[1] having won eleven major
world titles, as well as being the first boxer to win the lineal championship in five different weight
classes. Pacquiao is also the first boxer in history to win major world titles in four of the original
eight weight classes of boxing: flyweight, featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.
He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of
America (BWAA), WBC, and WBO. He is also a three-time Ring magazine and BWAA Fighter
of the Year, winning the award in 2006, 2008, and 2009; and the Best Fighter ESPY Award in
2009 and 2011. In 2016, Pacquiao was ranked number 2 on ESPN's list of top pound for pound
boxers of the past 25 years and currently ranks #4 in BoxRec's ranking of the greatest pound for
pound boxers of all time.
Pacquiao has generated approximately 19.6 million in pay-per-view buys and $1.2 billion in
revenue from his 24 pay-per-view bouts. According to Forbes, he was the second highest paid
athlete in the world as of 2015.
Beyond boxing, Pacquiao has participated in basketball, business, TV hosting, acting, music
recording, and politics. In May 2010, Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in
the 15th Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani. He was re-elected in
2013 to the 16th Congress of the Philippines. In June 2016, Pacquiao was elected as a senator and
will serve a six-year term until 2022.
Pacquiao has been considered a top contender for Philippine presidential election, 2022.
Incumbent president Rodrigo Duterteannounced in December 2016 and December 2017 that he
intends to make Pacquiao his successor.
MARGIELYN DIDAL

Margielyn Arda Didal (born 19 April 1999) is a Filipino professional street skateboarder who
rose to fame when she competed in the X Games Minneapolis 2018[3] and a gold medalist in
the 2018 Asian Games.

Margielyn Didal started skateboarding with friends at the now-closed Concave Park in Cebu.
When the park closed, she and her friends struggled to find a new place to skateboard. She has
narrated how she and her friends were apprehended by police officers and security guards when
they were caught practicing in the streets and in abandoned areas, as well as one account of being
barred entry from a shopping mall due to her having a skateboard.

She approached Daniel Bautista, who would later on be her coach in the 2018 Asian Games, and
borrowed boards from Bautista's friends. Bautista said that Didal became better than boys in her
area and recognized her talent. In around 2012, Didal started to compete in local tournaments in
Cebu City, particularly those organized by Jeson L. Guardo of G-Concepts in Barangay Tisa in
Cebu City.
EFREN REYES

Efren Manalang Reyes, OLD, PLH (born August 26, 1954), nicknamed the Magician and Bata, is

a Filipino professional pool player. A winner of over 70 international titles, Reyes was the first player to win

world championships in two different disciplines in pool. Among his numerous titles Reyes is a four-time World

Eight-ball Champion, the 1999 WPA World Nine-ball Champion, a three-time US Open winner, a two-

time World Pool League winner and a 14-time Derby City Classic winner – including an unprecedented five

Master of the Table crowns. By defeating Earl Strickland in the inaugural Color of Money event in 1996, Reyes

took home the largest single event purse in pool history.[1] Many analysts, fans, and current and former players

consider Reyes to be the greatest pool player of all time.


RAFAEL “PAENG” NEPOMUCENO

Rafael "Paeng" Nepomuceno is six time World Bowling Champion and is acknowledged
worldwide as the greatest international bowler of all time. He currently holds the World Record
for the most career titles won in 6 different continents, currently 131.

He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records and has three unbroken records up to this date.

Paeng has been bowling since he was 12, winning his first major tournament at 15, and his first
Bowling World Cup at 19, achieving a rare Grand Slam by winning the Philippine Open, Asian
Championships and the Bowling World Cup in a span of 5 months in 1976.

Paeng is the first and the only one is Asia to earn a USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Gold
Coach certification. USBC GOLD LEVEL COACHING is the highest certification for coaches,
much like receiving a doctorate in a field of study and Paeng is one of only 25 active coaches to
currently hold the designation.

Paeng currently still actively competes, enjoying being able to compete against bowling athletes
many who are half his age, and has the honor of still being able to represent his country at
international competitions. He is also the Head coach of the Philippine bowling national men’s
and bowling team. He is also a senior lecturer professor at the University of the Philippines and
teaches bowling.
ALEX PAGULAYAN

Alejandro "Alex" Salvador Pagulayan (born June 25, 1976) is a Filipino


Canadian professional pool (pocket billiards) and snooker player. His nicknames are "the Lion"
and "the Killer Pixie". This latter nickname was given by the great Cliff Thorburn, former World
and Canadian Snooker champion. Alex has a third, more recent nickname of "Mungo" (a favorite
Filipino dish) given to him by Rick McCallum, former Wayne State University Pocket Billiard
instructor and friend from the Hall of Fame Billiard room in Warren, Michigan. Alex was born
in Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines and was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 2004, Pagulayan
returned to the Philippines, and is a dual citizen of Canada and the Philippines.[1]

He is known for his relaxed demeanor during competition, and is a crowd favorite, well liked
because of his humorous interaction with the audience.[2] His impressions of other pool players are
especially entertaining.
DAVE “BATISTA” BAUTISTA

David Michael Bautista Jr. was born on January 18, 1969, in Arlington, VA, the son of Donna
Raye (née Mullins) and David Michael Bautista, a hairdresser in the D.C. area. His mother
has Greek ancestry, while his father is the son of Filipino immigrants. His paternal grandfather
served in the Filipino military, worked as a taxi driver and barber, and held other jobs to feed the
family. Bautista has said that he lived in poverty, and that he had a hard life—before he reached
the age of nine, three murders had occurred on his front lawn. As young as age 13, he was stealing
cars. By age 17, Bautista was estranged from his parents and lived on his own. He later admitted,
"I am proud of my parents. They are good, honest, hard-working folks. They taught me the values
of working hard." He was a nightclub bouncer until he was arrested after a fight that left two
patrons injured, one of whom was rendered unconscious. After a trial, he was sentenced to one
year of probation. He also worked as a lifeguard before pursuing a career in
bodybuilding, crediting the latter with saving his life.
HIDILYN DIAZ

Hidilyn Francisco Diaz (born 20 February 1991[4]) is a


Filipino weightlifter and airwoman. She competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics where
she was the youngest competitor in the women's 58-kg category. She was a bronze
medalist in the 2007 SEA Games in Thailand and achieved 10th place at the 2006 Asian
Games in the 53-kilogram class. And while a student of the Universidad de
Zamboanga representing her university, she won two golds and one silver in the Asian
Youth/Junior Weightlifting Championship held in Jeonju, South Korea.

In the 2016 Summer Olympics, Diaz won the silver medal in the women's 53-kg weight
division, ending the Philippines' 20-year Olympic medal drought. She is also the first
Filipino woman to win an Olympic medal of any color.
