MACROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION
Received two labelled containers
A (Left): Received six grey white linear cores each measuring 1 cm in length. A/E.
B (Right): Received five grey white linear core each measuring 1 cm in length. A/E.

MICROSCOPIC FINDINGS
Sections studied from all the cores sent from both the prostate lobes show proliferating glands and stroma. Glands
show double layer epithelium with inner columnar and outer basal cell layer. Few glands show dilatation, branch-
ing, undulation, filled with secretions. No evidence of nuclear atypia / nucleoli. Stroma shows smooth muscle nod-
ular hypertrophy with focal dense lymphocytic infiltrate and few congested blood vessels.
No evidence of PIN/Malignancy in the sections studied

IMPRESSION
TRUS guided prostate biopsy - Benign Adenoleiomyomatous Hyperplasia with chronic prostatitis.
