WHAT DOES SAFETY MEAN?

Safety is a concept that includes all measures and practices taken


to preserve the life, health, and bodily integrity of individuals.
In the workplace safety is measured through a series of metrics that track
the rate of rate misses, injuries, illness, and fatalities. In order to improve
these metrics. It is also the state in which the risk of harm by accident to
persons or of property damage is reduced to , and maintained at or
below, an acceptable level through a continuing process of hazard
identification and risk management.
Safety is also beneficial for all organizations since, in addition to
avoiding costly fines. It ensures increased productivity. Better morale,
and fewer lost work days.

Welding Safety Hazards

Welding safety measures are designed to protect employees from


welding hazards. It csn be implemented by conducting proper training,
inspecting welding equipment, and ensuring workers are aware of safety
precautions before performing a welding activities to minimize the risk
of health and safety injuries.
Get The Trainig
 It’s essential that all those who will be participating in welding
is well trained and has been read updated safety manuals .A
manual helps the welder utilize the machine to its full potential
without safety hazards.

Have The Proper Attire


Any exposed skin during welding is vulnerable to infared and
ultraviolet rays from the machine.

 Make sure your buttoned up


do not wear pants with cuffs, as they can catch flying sparks
Do not keep matches , lighters ,or any flammable device in your
pocket
Do not wear shorts , cargo pants or sleeved-shirts.
 Only wear flame-reisistant clothing. Such as denim pants and
shirt that’s maden from tightly woven material or welding
jacket.
Wear the poper jacket, gloves, and welding helmet for EVERY
weld

Make the area breathable


In confined spaces, it’s common for toxic gases and fumes to
accumulate. Make sure the area you’re welding is well-ventilated with
exhaust hoods. Or if the machine requires a respirator, be sure to wear
the correct one.
TYPES OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Water and foam

Water and foam fire extinguisher extinguish the fire by taking away the heat
element of the fire triangle. Foam agents also separate the oxygen element from the
other element.
Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide fire extinguisher extinguish fire by taking away oxygen element of the fire and
also be removing the heat with a very cold discharge. It can be used on Class B&C. There are usually
ineffective on Class A fire.
