Advantages Of Parallel Generator Systems

Increased Reliability And Redundancy: Low Cost Of Power Generation

Improving reliability and redundancy for both
critical and non-critical loads. The system
ensures that there is always constant power
to critical loads, and if one of the generators
fails, the load is supplied by the other one or
more parallel unit.
Cost of generation increases with generator size
and is more for ratings above 600KW.This is due
to the fact that the market for smaller engines is
higher, hence more are manufactures, resulting
in lower cost. Using several smaller generators
becomes more economical than a single large
generator.

More Control And Savings On Expandability And Flexibility:

Generating Costs:

The parallel system can achieve huge savings
when all generators are operated above 75%
of their rated load. This is the point at which
generators use the minimum fuel.
The use of several generators makes it possible
to supply a varying load without piling up costly
units or spending too much on a big generator
whose full capacity is rarely used. Generators
can be added gradually as demand increases.

Automatic Genset Controller AGC Series

General description Main features

The AGC Series is an easy-to-use control unit
containing all necessary functions for protection
and control of a genset. It can be used as a single
unit for one genset, or it can be connected in a
complete power management system with up to
32 controllers for synchronising projects, island
or parallel to the mains. The power management
system handles the load sharing between gensets
and the load-dependent start and stop.
Applications
The AGC Series is a compact all-in-one unit
designed for the following applications:
Plant mode Applications
Island mode Power plant with synchronizing
generators or a stand-alone
generator. It can also be used in
critical power plants.
Automatic Critical power/emergency
Mains Failure standby plants, black start
generator.
Fixed power Power plant with fixed kW
set point (including building load)
Easy power management setup
The AGC Series includes Easy Connect. This means:
When gensets are connected via CAN bus,
the controllers auto- matically detect each other.
If more gensets are connected via CANbus later,
these will also be detected automatically.
Application configuration possible via the display.
Easy and user-friendly interface
Parameters access via the display and the Utility
Software.
Full power management compatibility with other
AGC controllers from DEIF.
New design - Easy to mount
Adaptive mimic, with easy switching between

Only buttons relevant for a function are visible to

User levels in settings
Configure three user levels with a password for
each level: Customer, Service and Master.
Configure each parameter for a user level, and
only the parameters relevant for the user are shown.
