OB2 techtonic task

bristol temple meads arch fragment 1:10

in teams of 2, were asked to select an object of choice from

an existing train station and to recreate it to scale. this is
an exercise in teamwork, budget, timtabling, construction and
materiality.

the capital and base were made by slicing the object into
horizontal layers with the use of a CNC machine and then
carefully sanding each layer to the curve needed.

the arches were made from foam for lightness and the covered
with polyfilla to achieve the double arch effect. The wood
used was MDF.

wooden bench with planter for librarians at hartcourt hill campus

the inspiration for the shape came from the stapped surfaces a mold was made for the concrete planter, we had to use a
of the sunken garden. We wanted to product to be sustainable coarse agregate for the planter for it to be lighter for ease
and be built to last. took care with treating the wood and of transporation to required locaton.

daily painting: “dreaming of you”
one of my favourite things to do is abstract painting, i find
it extremly expressive, the way the paint dances with our
emotions and even music.

this painting was inspired by saudi culture and how pub-

lic affection is frowned upon. where most people have to be
content with the dream of being close to someone. the two
figures here, in black and white, are almost, but not quite
kissing.

1) keeping the building as open as possible

2) make allotments part of the building (roof? steps?)

3) no food or water served
