Summary
Single-burner induction cooktops in both drop-in and
portable options are gaining in popularity for use in homes,
recreational vehicles and restaurants. Today’s single-burner
cooktops offer a low-profile design with high efficiency and
low standby power.
To assist system designers meet the challenges and
shorten their development cycle for their products,
Microchip has developed a cost-effective single-burner
induction cooktop reference design. The reference design
is a fully functional single-burner unit that achieves greater
than 90%* efficiency and consumes less than 0.5W power
during standby. The user interface implements mTouch®
sensing solutions through 4 mm of Schott Ceran® ceramic
glass and displays the current setting using bright
7-segment displays.
At the heart of the reference design is the PIC16F1619 Key Features
