INTRODUCTION
Existing trade agreements, which are agreements in which the Colombian
government is under negotiation, have put the country in demanding position in
terms of their competitiveness. Given the evolution of the negotiations that are
currently handled in our country logistics variable is a complement to international
agreements which optimizes the cost of transport processes storage and distribution
from the importer to the final consumer.
This essay aims to show the advantages and cost disadvantages in international
physical distribution.
 ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PHYSICAL DISTRIBUTION
INTERNATIONAL

International Physical Distribution, known by its acronym DFI, is the logistics process
that develops around placing a product on the international market in compliance
with the terms negotiated between the seller and the buyer. Its main objective is to
minimize time, costs and risk that may arise during the journey, from the point of
departure at origin to the point of delivery at destination.

This is divided into two efficiency and effectiveness:

Efficiency: because less time product at each stage of the supply chain likewise

On the other hand, should analyze the time it can be considered a determining factor

transport the same way and have to increase the value of their freight and that
increases the operating cost. Referring to an investigation by the Inter-American
Development Bank confirmed that Colombia compared to Brazil, Chile, Mexico and
Peru is the country that would benefit in improving transport infrastructure and

On the issue of benefits for exporters in Colombia would benefit from the creation of
new strategies to mitigate the problems of distances and to send the final product of

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, each exporting company must have a basic system to facilitate
operation thereof in terms of constant currency increase or decrease in
transportation costs, storage and shipment of goods, in order to mitigate loss of
money or increase in export tariffs.
