DISTRIBUTION (IED) IN COLOMBIA

The International Physical Distribution is of vital importance since no modern

company can function without the movement of its raw materials or its finished
products, another important factor of the organizations is the fact of creating value
for the clients, suppliers and the shareholders of the same
The value is expressed fundamentally in terms of time and place; The products
and services have no value or less that are in the possession of the clients, when
and where they wish to have them.
Therefore, the physical distribution is the set of activities that are translated as the
provider and the client. On the other hand, one of the characteristics of modern
organizations is that they have incorporated their processes.

The physical distribution is the frontier of today's businesses, a fundamental pillar

of logistics where freight transport is the backbone of the same, it is the area where
administrative results of great magnitude can be achieved, it is also of vital
importance in the business management and the competitiveness of products; but
the success of the above depends on the execution of the operations in a
programmed, sequential, integrated manner and with the greatest possible
efficiency. For nobody is a secret that Colombia is a third world country, a country
that is in search of integral development as such and one of the main alternatives
for this to be achieved, is the investment of road infrastructure in the country. The
big countries the great world powers are characterized by the amplitude and road
infrastructure, these two variables are of great importance, we can highlight, the
ease of free investment in international trade and negotiation, because due to its
infrastructure it can be carried out an effective international physical distribution.

Colombia is underdeveloped in terms of road infrastructure, international free

investment treaties are very scarce, because the international physical distribution
becomes more expensive and delays the process, it is a very important factor that
influences a lot in terms of free investment, without However, it is not the only one.
Another influential factor is the corruption in the control agents, this due to the
illegal distribution, which is the drug trafficking in the country. Drug trafficking has a
great influence because it creates a bad image, seeing international countries in
Colombia as an insecure country in terms of trade investment. However, not
everything is bad due to all these obstacles, Colombia is characterized as a
country of quality in terms of agricultural exports, this is where the advantages of
having quality products are presented, because due to them the physical
distribution international, however high it may be in terms of transport and
operation costs, it is a gratifying distribution for the good product to be consumed.
If Colombia is committed to rapidly improving its road infrastructure, it will be a
potential future country, because the improvement of the roads guarantees a lower
cost in terms of international physical distribution and this would open more doors
for international trade.
