World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2019

Forum on “Construction of ‘the Belt and Road’

Artificial Intelligence Ecological Chain”

Since proposed six years ago, “the Belt and Road Initiative” has become a popular
international public product and provided an important platform for constructing a
community with a shared future for mankind. With artificial intelligence becoming the
core driving force for the world economy, social progress and human life, it will have
profound impacts on the countries along “the Belt and Road”. To implement the
requirements put forward at the 19th National People’s Congress of the People’s
Republic of China for promoting a deep integration of the Internet, big data, artificial
intelligence and real economy, a series of high-end global artificial intelligence
conferences will be held in Shanghai. The 2019 World Artificial Intelligence
Conference will provide a platform to pool “global wisdom” and create “Chinese
solutions” to respond to the common challenges in human development and create a
better life for mankind. As one of the institutions to implement “Action Plan for
Shanghai to Play a Role of Bridgehead” in serving “the Belt and Road” construction
and drawing on its experiences in international cooperation and exchange, Shanghai
International Studies University (SISU) will bring together scientists, scholars and
entrepreneurs from countries along “the Belt and Road” and other regions of the world
to provide an authoritative voice in this WAIC forum of “Construction of ‘the Belt and
