DIFFERENT DISEASES OF RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

1.) BRONCHITIS

-Infection and inflammation of bronchial tubes.

2.) ASTHMA

-Inflammation, narrowing and obstruction with mucus of the airways.

3.) EMPHYSEMA

-One of the diseases that comprises chronic obstructive pulmonary disease


(COPD). Gradual damage to air sacs due to smoking.
4.) CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE (COPD)

-Is the intersection of three related conditions- Chronic bronchitis, Chronic


asthma and Emphysema.

5.) PNEUMONIA

-Is a bacterial, viral or fungal infection of one or both sides of the lungs that
causes the air sacs, or alveoli of the lungs to fill up with fluid or pus.

6.) PLEURAL EFFUSION

-Is a collection of fluid between the lung and the chest wall in what is the
called Pleural space.
7.) CYSTIC FIBROSIS

-Is a genetic respiratory disease caused by a defective gene that creates


thick and sticky mucus that clogs up tubes and passageways.

8.) PNEUMOTHORAX

-Is a collapsed lung. It occurs when air leaks into the space between your
lung and chest wall.
9.) INFLUENZA

-Commonly known as the flu, is an infectious disease caused by an influenza


virus.

10.) LUNG CANCER

-Is a type of cancer that begins in the lungs .
