Andrew Gaze in Search of New Players as New Sydney Kings Coach

After Australian basketball star Andrew Gaze was announced as the new coach for the Sydney Kings,
Gaze plans to look for players that will make up his team, which is just the first step to what he thinks is
an overwhelming task to restore the city’s long forgotten basketball pride.

Gaze, with his impressive record of being a five-time Olympian, and seven time MVP winner, has signed
a contract with the Sydney Kings, which is good for at least three years.

The first challenge for the new coach is to build a team that will improve their previous record of
winning only six out of 28 games in the last season. There are only three players to have placed their
commitment for next season and one of them is two-time MVP Kevin Lisch. Lisch is an American-born
player who just recently obtained his Australian citizenship and is looking for a place to become part of
the Rio Olympics. He was one of the players for the Perth Wildcats and says that he is eager to learn
from Gaze, who he looks up to.

Gaze needs to fill in three more import spots. This is because a new rule has added a new spot for the
imports from two to three. Gaze has also aimed at looking for new players from all around the globe
including those from Europe, the US and free agent markets.

Gaze says he doesn’t care where a player comes from and that he only cares about their ability to play.
He simply wants to have the best talent he can get his hands on.

Gaze added that they are talking also to other players including Jerome Hill, Julian Khazzough and Jason
Cadee. He said that he understands if players from the previous season would not be interested in a
new offer as they could be going through rough times and could be looking for fresh opportunities.

Gaze concluded that being a new coach for the Kings is a big responsibility and he is willing to look at all
opportunities because he knows that the rewards for success are even bigger.
