The Philippine cuisine speaks of the flavors of islands. It can be described as big bowls of
flavor of salty, sour, and citrus. Filipino cuisine is a true culinary fusion just like the Philippine
history itself. A variety of Asian influences with Spanish and true Filipino origins. Filipino food is
growing in popularity in Western country, due to the effort of several young entrepreneurs who
is passionate about sharing their heritage for being introduced to the cuisine through Western
accessibility.
Philippines is consisting of such diverse regions--with their own specialty dishes, Filipino
became more popular because of this. A pre-colonial Philippines was about 1500s. Before
Spain, Philippines had a matriarchal society that was very sufficient with one nature and a lot of
different tribes. Spain came and introduced language, patriarchal society, using spoon and fork,
and different techniques of cooking with the use of herbs and spices. Spaniards had a huge
influence in Philippine cuisine.
The documentary shows that Philippine cuisine can also be on top of each famous
cuisine in the world. It demonstrated the uniqueness of the Philippine cuisine among others.
From the authentic ingredients to the authentic dishes, the documentary accurately gave pride
to the Philippines.
Philippine cuisine is prepared and can be associated with other famous cuisine. There
are 7,100 islands in the Philippines and there are distinct dishes in every island. It is a very
natural cuisine that presents ingredient in the purest state.
