Task 4

4.1 Solving work-based problems:

Introduction
Any company requires solving the obstacles faced by the company in order to grow and establish itself as a
front runner in the industry. The strategic approach to problem solving is thus important to efficiently find a
solution to it. This is important for increasing the production level of the company and to increase profitability.
This section deals with the problem solving approach in the framework of the company.
For the employees, the reduction in the turnover can be helped by some innovative solutions. The employees
are needed to be motivated to perform their absolute possible best for the company and provide viable output
for the business. The moral and ethical values of the employees would also get a boost because of it. The work
force must also have the opportunity to inject their own personal solutions and views in the completion of the
task which would create unique solutions to the problems. The company could also keep a keen eye on the
employees and their improvements through a checklist. The checklist would also ensure smooth transition and
flow of communication between the various parts of the organization. A detailed reward system may also be
integrated in the setup to award the employees for exceptional achievements. This would essentially motivate
and inspire the employees to perform better and which would essentially contribute to the growth of the
company. The management of the company should also keenly observe the satisfaction level of the employees
to deal with any potential problems. The employees must also be trained properly and regularly to keep up
with the changes in the industry norms and developments (Savery et al, 2015).
Conclusions
The above research clearly shows the need for an efficient problem solving mechanism to efficiently manage
the flow of information within and among the various organization levels. This is met by creating an efficient
work based problem solving strategy.
4.2. Variety of communication styles and appropriate manner at various levels
Introduction

The communication style adopted by the business plays an important role for the effectiveness of the

communication. There are various existing styles of communication and it differs on the organizational levels.

It is essential to critically analyse the most effective method of communication before its adoption. An efficient

communication channel may be instrumental in realising the aims and objectives of the business.

The flow of communication needs to be efficient to dispense better service care to the customers. The failure

of the tasks by the employees can also be minimised by the use of precise communication channel among the

employees expressing their voice about the task. This would help the company to also grow due to the reduction

of failures. The Travelodge company has implemented an efficient system of communication within the

organization to improve the communication between the employees and management of the company. This
also becomes handy in solving the problems and complaints of the employees. To structure an efficient

communication system, the company requires putting in comprehensive efforts, time and resources of the

organization. It is not instantly built. The chance of success of the organization also increases manifold with

the use of effective communication strategies. The probabilities of the employees to perform better in the

organization also enhances due to better expression of the desired way of operation to the employees. The

hierarchy of the organizational setup must also be respected by the employees. The verbal and written

communication between the employees and the management should be reflected in the maintenance (Noe et

al, 2017).

Written Communication: It is essential for the employees to log in the official records through written

communication. The ambiguity of expression can be avoided by the company through the written

communication. The addressing style of the hierarchy must also be noted by the addressee in the written

communication.

Checklist Communication: Efficient exchange of ideas and views on the various issues can be done through

the checklist communication.

Conclusions

Thus the need for the different strategies of communication in the organization cannot be stressed enough. But

the effectiveness of the communication increases many times by the known strategies of communication which

is also evident from the above description.

4.3 Evaluation of a time-management strategy
Introduction

The time management of the communication is also important for essential intimation of the deadlines and

timed projects. The business can also provide better service to their customers through the time management

strategy. The time management is also required to deliver necessary communication to the employees regarding

any changes in the tasks or involved circumstances.

The organization can also adopt the following steps to implement time management strategy:

High Value Activity Focus: There must be instant recognition of the duties and events of the organization and

the employees. Each of the employees must also be assigned a priority. The immediate issues need to be solved

urgently.

Multi-tasking Limitations: It is essential to assign a particular task to a single person to maintain quality of

service. The performance of the employees can also be compromised due to over work. The quality of the

service is of the greatest importance for the company.

Dynamic Task List: The priority checklist should serve as a reminder and record for the tasks that needs to be

done before others.

Interruptions Minimization: The progress of the task should not be unnecessarily interrupted by the higher

management. Interruptions create confusion among the employees. The management must clearly express the

needs and demands of the task before the work begins and not during the progression of the task. This would

reduce the risk of quality deterioration in the tasks done by the employees (Arnold et al, 2019).

Conclusions

The requirement of time management is also clearly evident from the above discussion. It is required by the

company to timely deliver the services of the company and efficient completion of the task in the given time

frame.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the personal and professional development is absolutely necessary for improving the

skills of the employees and the profitability of the organization. A comprehensive PPD plan has been laid down

in the project for the company to follow. A development plan has also been described in the assignment for

developing the improving the weak skills as well strengthening the existing strengths of the employees.
