I. ACTIVITY TITLE : District Autism Consciousness Day with San Francisco Rotary

Participants : 25 identified autism children from the barangays where the
schools in the district is located.

II. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE:

According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention Autism Spectrum


Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain. Some
people with ASD have a known difference, such as a genetic condition. In addition,
People with ASD may behave, communicate, interact, and learn in ways that are
different from most other people thus they need social interactions and activities.

Furthermore, Department of Education under Special Education Program is


for all learners with disability or Learners with Special Educational Needs that
includes autism and others is the best avenue to let them become self -reliant ,
become productive and to have a chance to learn and showcase their own talent
and intelligence (123.help.com)

Presidential proclamation No. 711,s.1996 declaring January 24-31 as


Autism Consciousness Week in compliance with paragraph 3 of DM No 022 s 2021,
entitled “Observance of National Celebration on Advocacy Program in Support of
Inclusive Education” dated April 21, 2021 and in support with the Division Autism
Consciousness Celebration on January 31, 2023.
With these, San Francisco III is one with the department in full support of the
advocacy will conduct a District Autism Consciousness Day in partnership with the
Rotary Club of San Francisco as one of their service projects and mandatory activity
for the Rotary Year 2022-2023.

III. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY

This is a one-day activity of the San Francisco III district with the Rotary Club
of San Francisco select teachers, identified autism children, parents , PTA , BLGU will
participate in the said activity. RCSF will distribute food packs, toys, conduct autism
awareness and some activities.

IV. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The activity aims to:

1. To equip parents with autism child about the world os autism;

2. To develop autism children their social skills;


3. To inform people and teachers about autism;

V. STRATEGIES

Talk, awareness campaign, distribution of presents from RCSF.

VI. TARGET PARTICIPANTS

Identified 25 Autism children, parents, teachers


VII. IMPLEMENTATION MECHANICS

The conduct of the activity is initiated by the PROPONENT through the district
with the partnership of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. RCSF will distribute food
packs, toys and will conduct awareness on Autism to all parents and teachers. San
Francisco District III will prepare the venue ,program and simple salo -salo.

X. MONITORING AND EVALUATION

Monitoring and evaluation on the conduct of information drive will be


monitored by the School Principal and the District In charge for proper and
successful implementation. Right after the information drive, accomplishment and
financial reports will be submitted to the Office of the School Principal and to be
posted in the transparency board for the information of everybody.
