JULIA ORTIS LUIS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

(SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL)

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

This global pandemic brought by COVID-19 has caused abrupt changes and challenges in
almost all aspects of people’s lives particularly the educational system. The global lockdown of educa-
tion institution has caused major interruption in students' learning, and somewhat cancellation of some
school’s activities.
As for the school calendar of 2020 some programs and activities were minimize if not totally
stopped because of the COVID virus that started early January. Activities like Central Luzon Regional
Athletic Association (CLARAA) were cancelled hence the coaches as well as the players who were
supposed to represent the Division felt disappointed, other scheduled school programs were stopped
or modified like Junior and Senior Prom, Recognition and Graduation (face to face), enrolment were
done online or thru respective barangay and classes were modular. This happened to prevent the
spread of the virus.
In order not to disrupt learning and ensure a quality education, the government has implement-
ed different learning modalities in response to the current situation. DepEd formulated the Basic Edu-
cation Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) alternative mode of delivering learning to reach learners regard-
less of who and where they are. These Learning Delivery Modalities were: Modular Distance Learning
(MDL), Online Distance Learning (ODL), and TV/Radio-Based Instruction.
In response to this, Julia Ortiz Luis National High School (JOLNHS) headed by our principal,
Ma’am Aurora T. Aguila together with our assistant principal, Ma’am Anicia F. Santiago have made
adjustments to re-align its established practices and policies to continue providing quality education
and services to its clienteles. Teachers were encouraged to upgrade their ICT skills and knowledge for
designing teaching and learning tasks through varied online seminars or webinars provided by differ-
ent sectors, including the Department of Education. Students’ prepared learning modalities were solic-
ited and constantly monitored. Media and varied online platforms were used more than ever by the
school’s management to conduct regular meetings and manage time on task, disseminate information
to students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders to make sure that everyone’s effort and role
were well-coordinated.
Despite of the difficult situation, the Senior High School Department with its growing enrollees in
the different strands has continued to give its better service as shown in its accomplishment this year
may it be in the field of academics ,Technical Vocational Livelihood or Sports.
There were some activities and programs in SHS which pursued in the early part of the year
although some programs were not carried out like English Festival because of pandemic. Others like
the yearly activities of HUMSS- Gift –giving and Feeding Program to some schools were successfully
done. Immersions for SHS in their chosen careers were likewise finished before the total lockdown in
March while the rest of the activities now were in virtual form. Among of these activities and accom-
plishments were presented by strand.
The annual advocacy of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) this year were held to six ele-
mentary school. Among the recipient schools were: Dolores ES, San Juan ES, San Alejandro ES, San
Manuel ES, San Miguel ES, and Ilog Baliwag Kindergarten.
The immersion students in their chosen course were deployed last January 2020 to the different depart-
ments n the municipality as well as to the different schools. Some were deployed in Talavera and Good
Samaritan Hospital.
