TEACHERS’ RELECTION
SY 2021-2022
GRADE II - PEACE

Due to the increase of cases of Covid-19 and the vision of the Department of
Education is to continue education amidst the pandemic, the Central Office has
mandated to conduct a nationwide survey on what modality is applicable in a specific
area with the use of Learners’ Enrollment and Survey Form or LESF. With the use of
the LESF, the El Salvador City Central School was able to decide to use the Printed
Modular Distance Learning or PMDL, Radio-Based Instruction Learning and Online
Distance Learning Modality.

The parents and guardians of the learners for S.Y. 2021-2022 joined the
orientation on the new normal scheme of education. Their doubts and questions
were answered with the discussion of the teachers on the process of the new
modality adapted by the school.

Prior to the commencement of the school year on September 13, 2021, I

made sure that each module was ready and packed. Additionally, time and work
went into making the videos and audio that support the lesson. The learning
materials for the students were prepared prior to the commencement of class. Given
that parents will be present, the classroom needs to be prepared. To avoid direct
touch, I set up a temporary handwashing station outside the classroom where
parents and visitors can wash their hands before entering.

With regards to 16 pupils enrolled in my grade 2 online class, I use Google

Meet and Google Classrooms as a means of communication. Calls and message
were used to follow up with our pupils. To help online learners and to be presented in
various formats, I prepared audio and video classes. I'm overjoyed that all my online
pupils will participate actively in our classes.

In addition, I have adapted the Project MMR (Makinig, Matuto sa Radyo).

maintaining their attention during the outbreak. One of the stories I created is "Mahal
Kita Inay," and it was my aim that by working on this project, our pupils would
develop a love of reading and listening. I also used Project VSR, also known as
virtual story reading, because it is quite helpful. All the stories used in the Project
MMR were converted into video files using the VSR Materials, which were inspired
by and modeled after the reading materials. These resources serve as the questions
that the ECCS virtual teachers should pose following each virtual reading activity.

On March 28, 2022, Orientation and Dry Run for Limited face-to-face were
successfully completed, and we were pleased to learn that all parents were eager to
enroll their children in school. On April 5, 2022, I split the 28 students who were
willing to engage in the limited face-to-face instruction into two groups: Set A and Set
B. Set A was conducted every Monday, and Set B was conducted every Wednesday
because my reading tutorial was scheduled every Friday. I'm overjoyed that
everyone who attended my in-person lessons learned a lot.

As their teachers who are always willing to serve and spread new chances to
our learners, I reach out to them by offering them various innovations to better help
our learners in response to the demands of our pupils in this type of education.

Lastly, as a gem of Department of Education it is my responsibility as a public

servant to carry out its objectives and programs and convey knowledge.
