NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL LEARNING


CAMP ORIENTATION AND STATE OF THE SCHOOL
ADDRESS (SOSA)”
In support to the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and as a sub-program
under the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP) aimed at addressing learning
loss, the Department of Education (DepEd) is set to roll out the National Learning
Camp (NLC) during the 2022-2023 End-of-School Year (EOSY) break.

As part of its implementation, Ramon National High School has taken its steps
to open its portals for the students who would like to join the national learning camp
in support to the program of the department. With this, an orientation was held to
inform the parents and stakeholders on the provisions of the learning camp at the
same time to listen to the State of the School Address (SOSA) for this school year.

The program commenced through a prayer led by Mr. Tolentino B. Jimenez,T-


III of the Communication Arts Department. This was followed by an opening remarks
given by Mr. Antonio G. Dicion, Head Teacher III of the TLE Department, wherein
he emphasized the importance of camaraderie in nurturing the child especially
nowadays that the Department aims to fill in the gaps made by the pandemic. It was
the followed by the orientation proper headed by Mrs. Marilyn V. Ramos, OIC-Office
of the School Principal, asked the group if who among them are willing to let their
children undergo the National Learning Camp. Majority of the respondents agreed to
do so. In the presentation of the provisions of the NLC, Ma’am Marilyn reiterated the
following: The NLC is a voluntary program that will start its phased implementation
with Grades 7 and 8 focusing on English, Science, and Mathematics.Schools may also
conduct other EOSY break activities such as Reading and Mathematics Program for
Grades 1 to 3 and enrichment activities in other grade levels alongside the phased
implementation of the NLC to support learning recovery across grade levels.Based on
the specific needs of the learners, they shall be enrolled in one of three Camps:
Enhancement Camp, Consolidation Camp, or Intervention Camp.The NLC aims to
create a camp-like atmosphere by integrating fun and engaging activities to foster
learner interests, social-emotional skills, personal growth, and character
development.Participation of teachers in the NLC is voluntary. Since the NLC entails
the services of teachers beyond regular school days, they shall be provided with
vacation service credits, certificate of recognition for teachers, and other incentives,
subject to the availability of funds and guidelines set.

ensuring the success of this year’s National Learning Camp, Ramon National High
School is paving the way for this learning camp to be productive and time worthy for
the learners to join and participate.
After presenting the provisions of the NLC, Ma’am Marilyn, delivered her
State of the School Address (SOSA) for the school year 2022-2023. The presentation
highlighted the accomplishments of the school in the whole year round which
revolved on the programs and projects being carried out. In addition, the state of the
school address also highlights the academic performance of learners in their subjects
for both junior high school and senior high school.

Moreover, Ma’am Marilyn also presented the total number of students


enrolled for the current school year together with the number of drop-out rates.It was
also mentioned that the school had undergone the National Achievement Test (NAT)
for the Grade 10 and 12. Afterwards, Mr. Dorman A. Olivar delivered his closing
remarks in which he emphasized the importance of bridging the school to the
community by means of participating to the learning camp in order to male the
delivery of learning better and more engaging through this program given by the
department.
