San Pablo Bata Elementary School conducted a webinar about Gender and Development
on July 27-28 ,2021. Each adviser was assigned to discuss topic to their respective parents,
learners and stakeholders. Topics that served as additional importation and reminders.
The main goal of the webinar was to inform the teachers, parents, learners and
stakeholders about gender related issues and concerns of men and women in society,
particularly in school. They were informed about the historical roots and growth of Gender and
Development. A various examples were given to illustrate gender differences, inequality,
equality, biases and prejudices; be it in school or real life setting. Another topic during the
discussion were gender awareness and sensitivity.
The GAD mandate: Limited understanding and capabilities of GFPS members and
project proponents on Gender and Development(GAD) by the seven (7) GFPS members
/teachers namely:
Ma. Makiling O. Bondoc-GDFPS Head, Mark Louie G. Dela Vega -M & E Secretariat,
Rosalinda R. Pascual-M & E Coordinator, and Celeste F. Macalalag, Mary Joyce T. Payawal,
Eunice B. Loriga, Maricel T. Verona and Rosalyn S. Tagle- members. It was done virtually via
google meet.
The teachers were also accustomed on how to acknowledge gender differences and
promote gender sensitivity in school setting. The Gender and Development Plan of the School
was also talked about. Plans, programs and activities of the school, as well as the appropriate
expenditure of Gad Budget were also emphasized. The teacher were encouraged to give
suggestions and opinions about the GAD Plan.
Indeed, this Gender and Development was another marked of success for the educators
of San Pablo Bata Elementary School.
