NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF THE


2018 GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY

In order to enhance coordination and unity in an organization, the school conducted a team
building with an fusion of Gender Equality and Development. The school believes that if a man can,
women can do as well. The purpose of the activity is to improve, promote and rekindle gender equality
in school and its staff, particularly in gender sensitivity issues, conducts workshop, physical and mental
challenges in line with gender understanding and respect.
The activity was scheduled on October 26, 2018 but due to unavailability of the facilitators and
trainers, the organizing committee decided to reschedule it on October 30, 2018. The one-day Gender
and Development Team Building Activity was successfully conducted with the following sequence of
events:
Participants arrived on time at Aglicay Beach Resort located in Barangay Comod-om, Alcantara,
Romblon. Breakfast was served as scheduled and it was followed by registration of participants and
right after it is the opening program. During the opening, the singing of the National Anthem was led
and conducted by Mrs. Jolita F. Roxas followed by a prayer asking for the guidance in the entire activity
led by Mrs. Marimel C. Musa. The participants has been welcomed by Mrs. Leila A. Alag, Secondary
School Principal I and a recognition and roll call by Mrs. Gwen A. Galicha, she announced and
recognized the two participating schools which is Tugdan NHS and Melodias Imperial NHS with a total
of thirty(30) participants including the three (3) facilitators.
The introduction of the trainers and facilitators was tasked to Ms. Jinky B. Galagata. Prior to the
team building activity that has been set in the afternoon, a short lecture and backgrounding was
delivered by Mrs. Leila A. Alag and Mr. Randy A. Musa, SST-II with the topic “ The Importance of Team
Building in Gender and Institutional development; an introduction and best practices.” And was
commenced with a workshop on “GAD: a real life scenario, observation, practice and application.”

After the workshop, lunch has been served to the participants. It was a working lunch because
Fire Officer 1 Levi Abaoag, a BFP personnel oriented the participants with the requirements,
importance and tasks particularly the safety guidelines during the activity. They also prepared the
teambuilding venue for obstacle and other physical activities.
A total of three facilitators participated in the team building activity namely FO1 Levi Abaoag
,FO2 Camelo Galicia, and headed by FO3 Garcia from BFP- Municipality of Alcantara. It was a
meaningful team building because every participants were actively involved regardless of age and
gender.
The Team Building Activity as it happens:
Right after the activity, the participants gathered again in the hall for a closing program. The
impressions was given by Mr. Rio Amar representing Melodias imperial NHS and Mrs. Gwen A. Galicha
for Tugdan NHS.

They presented their feedback to foods, venue, the facilitators and trainors, participants as well
as the training itself. The distribution of certicicates and prizes followed by a closing statement from
Mr. Christian T. Solidum, Officer In Charge of Melodias Imperial National high School.
