NARRATIVE REPORT
The realization of the dream to have a meaningful Gender and Development Training came to reality last
December 17, 2016 at Bluroze Farm, Lodlod, Lipa City. This was started as a plan of nine school heads who never
fail to think of projects and plans to develop teachers into a holistic whole being.
The training was started into what was planned to be. The morning activity such as opening program
and energizer were done through the joined effort of the teacher participants, guest speakers as well as the
school heads who came as early as 7:30 in the morning.
The three guest speakers cited their insights on different topics assigned to them. Mrs. Esperanza C.

focused on the childhood development and environment as factors that promotes individual differences on
culture, psychological and social aspects of human being. She enlightened the mind of participants with her
discussion on several theories that affect human roles to the society. She focused on a belief that it is a matter
of choice of being who you really are.
Otherwise, SPO1 Minerva Galapin encouraged everyone to take part and speak for the rights of the
women and children when she discussed the Violence Againts Women and Children Act. She identified the
victims and the authorities to whom could seek help. She used video clips in presenting her topic. She also
advised everyone to cooperate in the campaign against drugs so as to maintain a peaceful society and lessen
the violence againsts women and children.
On the other hand, Mrs. Leonora P. Santos, Guidance Counselor of Malvar National High School
reiterated the legal bases of Child Protection Policy. She gave emphasize on the students handbook as a great
help in the implementation of discipline among students. She seized the help of teachers in handling students
cases whenever necessary.
In addition to this, team building activities were also done to promote camaraderie among teachers in
different schools. Different schools prepared games that would enable teachers to build harmonious
relationship among their colleagues.
From the smile of teachers’ faces, from the excitement filled with their eyes, you could tell that this
training was really a successful one. Thumbs up to all the people behind this Gender and Development Training.
