NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL CHILD PROTECTION POLICY


FIRST to FOURTH QUARTER
2020-2021
I. CAPACITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES
Every child has rights, no matter who they are or where they live. Our government has promised
to protect, respect and fulfill these rights, yet they are still violated nationwide.
Sinipian Elementary School’s Child Protection Program focus on holding the government
accountable on children's rights standards by monitoring its performance and commitments and ensures
the protection of every learner under its care.
In this view, the school formulated and implemented a localized school-based child protection
policy adapted from D.O. #40, S. 2012, Policy and Guidelines on Protecting Children in School from
Abuse, Violence, Exploitation, Discrimination, Bullying and other forms of Abuse.
The school conducted orientation and trainings to raise awareness on School Child Protection
Policy, Rights of every Child and other issues concerning the Child Protection Policy Program.

II. POLICY FORMULATION


Working together with the Government and other child-led organizations and civil society, the
Sinipian Elementary School Child Protection Policy Committee do policy research and analysis to ensure
child rights are upheld in government policies, procedures and laws - and that children's voices are heard
and taken into consideration through this the school was able to formulate a localized school policy
serves as guiding principle of the school to protect every child in school.

III. STAKEHOLDERS PARTICIPATION


Internal and external stakeholders of Sinipian Elementary School worked hand in hand to promote
the Government Child Protection Program. Every child has the right to know the activities in their
environment. Thru the, CDRRM or the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management activities such as the
Earthquake Drill the learners able to know how to protect themselves in case of disasters. The School-
Based Child Protection Program Coordinator, Ms. Clarita C. Calabia conducted orientation during

GPTA General Assembly. Teachers integrated the CPP during the Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao Subject.
The Supreme Pupil Government Officers were assigned to anti-bullying campaign in the school to avoid
violence.

IV. BEST PRACTICES

1. Involving the internal and external stakeholders in the Child Protection Program is one of the best
practices in implementing the program. Everyone is accountable to everyone’s protection from violence,
abuse and other forms of bullying.
2. Raise awareness on the Child Protection Program through conducting orientation, seminars and
trainings.
3. The school have quarterly monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the program have been
successfully implemented.
4. Teachers integrated the CPP during the EsP Subject.

V. RECOMMENDATIONS
1. The school should conduct more research, study and analysis in order to have modification on School
Child Protection Policy.
2. Record keeping is essential in monitoring and evaluation.
3. Internal and external should take part in all activities involving the program.

4. The school should seek charitable contribution from people to make it possible for the school to carry
out programs and so much more. Someone to support the mission and work around the community and a
good stewards to give generous donation, helping vulnerable children where the need is greatest with
whatever they need the most.
