NARRATIVE REPORT ON SEMBREAK IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR TEACHERS


January 31- February 4, 2022

In accordance with the DepEd memorandum no. 21 s. 2022, San Isidro


National High School held its Sembreak In- Service Training (INSET) for Teaching
Personnel for the school year 2021-2022 through virtual platform which started from
January 31-February 4, 2022. This week long capacity building activity for teaching
personnel aims to: (a) provide avenue or teacher’ reskilling and upskilling through
professional learning community,
(b) establish a support mechanism to continuously improve teacher’s content and
pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills and attitudes, and (c) foster commitment and
dedication as agents of change by displaying practices on the implementation of
learning delivery modalities (LDM) through performance coaching.
Amid the public health crisis, the teachers actively participated the training
through an online platform via google meet in which this five day session helps to
further expand the teacher’s skills and knowledge on different digital teaching
materials, systems, and approaches that are useful in delivering quality instruction
under the new normal approach. It will help teachers mobilized towards a
modernized way of teaching and orient them in the latest trends in teaching.
On the first day of the virtual conference, the teaching personnel under the
supervision of our dynamic principal Mam Eden A. Batalla joined the session
facilitated by the Division Office of Albay personnel headed by Mam Norma B.
Samantela, Schools Division Superintendent and Education Program Supervisors.
Every Education Program Supervisors discussed briefly the different guidelines and
teaching strategies that should be applied by every teachers in every subject. It was
followed by the different announcements about the upcoming trainings and the
different documents to be submitted to the office.
On the second day the training was suspended due to the unexpected
announcement of our president that there was a suspension of work because it was a
holiday so we were not be able to continue the training and it was announced that it
will be continued on the next day.
On the third day was the School- Based In- Service Training where it was again
through virtual via google meet. Our school principal Mam Eden A. Batalla
spearheaded the online training assisted by our HRMO – designated Mam Grace B.
Ceriola, Mr. Emerson B. Binalingbing as Chairman and the technical support of Ms.
Anielyn B. Bermundo and Mrs. Ma. Luisa Francia B. Benoyo. It was started with a
prayer, nationalistic song through audio visual presentation and roll call of
attendance by Mam Anielyn B. Bermundo. The statement of the purpose was made
by Mrs. Grace B. Ceriola then followed by the message of Mam Eden A. Batalla. There
was also an energizer done by the teaching personnel followed by the training
started. The first resource speaker was Mrs. Ma. Luisa Francia B. Benoyo tackled
about the “LAC session on Basic Action Planning” and she explained the types of
research with its format to be followed by the teachers. It was followed by the Action
Research Proposal presented by Mrs. Judith E. Logronio, (Science), Wenifredo B.
Basmayor, English) and Ruth B. Siapno, (Math). The next topic was on “LAC Session
on the Best Practices, Programs and Intervention Strategies in Literacy and
Numeracy”. Mr. Wenifredo B. Basmayor discussed about the best practices,
programs and intervention on literacy while Mrs. Ruth B. Siapno briefly explained on
the numeracy. There was also a group presentation of suggested plan and strategies
to improve numeracy and literacy presented by Mrs. Ruth B. Siapno and Mr.
Wenifredo B. Basmayor. The topic on “A Cure for Anxiety, Stress and Depression was
tackled by Mrs. Annabelle B. Buling where teachers gave some thoughts and ideas on
how to manage their stress while teaching learners. The wrap up was given by Mam
Michelle B. Biron in order to generalize the whole session for the day. During the
open forum, every teacher shared on the different insights and practices they must
be applied, programs that they should be implemented and the different
interventions in order to equip with full knowledge of their learners. It was a day full
of knowledge, skills, insights and information for every teachers of San Isidro
National High School.
On the fourth day, Mam Myrene B. Bonto done the recap about the different
topics discussed during the previous day followed by the energizer done by the
teaching personnel. The first resource speaker that day was Mam Abegail B. Vergara
where she discussed about “Teaching Learners With Difficulty in an Inclusive Setting
“, along with Mam Maricris D. Ayleon as continuation of their topic. They explained
clearly the different difficulties of learners as well as the different strategies to be
applied to them. Mam Gemma C. Torre was the next speaker where she discussed on
the “LAC Session on Teaching Strategies in the New Normal” and she explained to us
the different teaching strategies that should be applied while facing our new situation
then Mrs. Ruth B. Siapno and Mr. Alan B. Aban explained to us about the “LAC
Session on Multimedia Presentation” where teachers learned how to teach like
creating learner’s activity Sheets and powerpoint presentations using the different
software application using computer.
The last day was the continuation of Mr. Alan B. Aban’s discussion on
Multimedia Presentation which was not finished due to poor internet connection
that’s why we continued it through face to face session. It was also followed by the
continuation of creating of the teacher’s action plan where they created from their
respective group. Then there was also a distribution of certificates to the speakers
and to all the participants of the trainings. Mrs. Jorgina M. Binamira wrap up the
whole week sessions. Finally, the event was ended with the inspiring wisdom of our
school head Mam Eden A. Batalla who extended her gratitude to the working
committees and participants whose excellence and constant support contributed
success to the program followed by the different announcements and reminders of
the documents to be submitted by the teaching personnel.
“Education is a continuous process”. Thus, we teachers has engaged in this
workshops and trainings to enhance our teaching skills then apply all our learnings
to our learners. Through the collaboration and hard work of the San Isidro National
High School teaching and non- personnel, we made this training a successful one.
We, teachers are ready again to face any challenges in teaching because we were
equipped with the knowledge from the training.
