Objectives:

a. Recognize and give highlight the lasting contributions the SMES teachers make to
every SMES pupils to ensure that they get a proper education.

b. Provide an opportunity for the parents and learners to acknowledge, thank and
appreciate the SMES teachers, who educate and guide them to the path of life ahead.

c. Reflect on the role that educators of SMES have played in each SMES student’s life,
and the ways they continue inspiring their students each and every day in the
classroom.

PART II

NARRATIVE REPORT

Introduction

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated every starting on 5th day of September until the
5th day of October. It is a day to honor the kind, hardworking, and patient individuals
who create an everlasting impact on our lives. Given how we entrust teachers with the
care and future of the children, every day should be Teachers’ Day. And yet, these
incredible professionals do not always get the recognition they deserve. By-virtue- of

September 5 to October 5 Every Year as National Teacher’s Month as Republic Act 10743
entitled Declaring the 5 th Day of October of Every Year as National Teacher’s Day
Celebration by the UNESCO, aims to change this narrative. This year’s theme: “Gurong
Pilipino:Dangal ng Sambayang Pilipino”.
The celebration aims to:
a. Honors those who are in the teaching profession.
b. Take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive
and fulfilling profession.
c. Acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service and dedicated
commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizen, nurturing families,
strengthening communities and building the nation.
d. Generate widespread support and assistance for teachers.
e. Revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public
awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society.
f. Express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

All public and private elementary and secondary schools including the districts,
divisions and regional offices are enjoined to follow the synchronized programs, projects
and activities. In accordance to the said event, the Schools Division of Zambales
implemented a virtual program which was live on Facebook which started at exactly
10:00 in the morning. All the teachers in the public schools including SMES teachers
and pupils has watched the said virtual program.
The program was facilitated by Don Peter L. Bada, Senior Education Project
Specialist and Lerio Rose Q. Hugo, Education Program Specialist II.
After the national anthem and invocation, the appreciation program had officially started
with an opening remarks from our Chief Education Supervisor, SGOD, Ailyn C. Eay.
She emphasized the important role of teachers in the society especially in this time of
pandemic. The next part of the program is the Inspirational message which was
delivered by our Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Madam Michelle A. Mejica

EdD,CESE. Her message was full of gratitude and emotional appeal as she greeted the
teachers a “Happy Teacher’s Day” on behalf of our very own Schools Division
Superintendent, Sir Romeo M. Alip,Phd, CESO V. Following that, are intermission
numbers from the SPG and SSGC of Zones 2 and 3.
Then came the exciting for the teachers which is the raffle draw which was already pre-
drawn by the SDO. Lots of prizes were given away. According to them the raffle draw
event was successful through the help of donors and sponsors. Finally, the closing
speech was delivered by our Chief Education Supervisor,CID, Sir Manolito B.
Basilio,EdD. He was full of gratitude to all the teachers who always put the students
first and work to place them in positions to succeed despite the odds and discomfort
caused by this pandemic. Enjoyment of the teachers on the entire event was evident
through their active participation in sending messages in the comment section of the
SDO Zambales National Teachers’ Day FB Live.
Then at 10:30 in the morning, the school bell rang and the prayer for the teachers
was recited by Lexine Q. Perez, SPG President.
And in the afternoon, SMES also celebrated the World Teachers’ Day through a
very meaningful program. This activity was spearheaded by the Supreme Pupil
Government (SPG) and was supported by the School’s PTA Officers. The Program was
started by singing of the National Anthem followed by a prayer led by Mar Shiela
Labsan, SPG Secretary. The Opening Remarks was given by Mrs. Edna Serafica, last
year’s PTA President. Our committed and hard-working school principal, Madam
Marianne J. Pascua delivered the Inspirational Message. She has conveyed her wishes
and gratitude to all the teachers of SMES who has been the guiding force of the pupils
especially now that they are adjusting to their normal school life again. Then after that,
the select Grade three pupils showed their love for the teachers by reciting an Acrostic.
Two groups from select Grade 4, 5 and 6 also showcased their talents in dancing by
giving Intermission numbers. The program was closed by Mr. Jimmy Delos Reyes ,this
year’s PTA President by delivering the Closing Remarks

The second part of the program was giving of token appreciation for the teachers
who has a big role in molding the students’ head, heart, and hand. This was done to
their respective classrooms.
And for the final part of the program, the SPG and PTA has prepared sumptuous
foods for the teachers.
The ambiance on that day was really festive because it was filled with joy and
happiness to our dear teachers as well as to the students for it is the time once again
that they took a bond even for just a day.
