2021 Mid-Year School-Based INSET

I. Title: “Progressing Teachers’ Efficiency and Efficacy for 21 st Century Teaching”

II. Training Objective: The 5-Day In-Service Training entitled Progressing Teachers’ Efficiency

and Efficacy for 21st Century Teaching aims to:

a) Equip the teachers with information and updates on DepEd issuances;

b) Review the preparation of Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCRF) among

teachers and portfolio preparation;

c) Cope with the social, physical, mental and psychosocial demands of the new normal; and

d) Demonstrate classroom best practices and strategies through demonstration teaching

III. Rationale: The Department of Education ensures that communication is crucial in the success

of implementation despite the challenges brought by the shift in new normal. In this situation,

there is a need to run thoroughly on the DepEd issuances for an up-to-date information and

regulations that will guide the teacher as they anticipate challenges and bottlenecks as the school

year passes.

To ensure that learners have acquired necessary competencies, teachers must be rated using

the Results-based Performance Monitoring System (RPMS) Tool for it reflect the results of their

performance. With this situation, there is a need to review Individual Performance Commitment

and Review (IPCRF) and preparation of portfolio among teachers to fit the demand of time.

As the digital generation progresses and the danger of pandemic still hovers, physical-social

activities are being minimized even more, internet has been the primary source of both

entertainment and education of every age group. Every information that we might need, the

internet has it. But as much as it is of great help to everybody, it can also be the blackhole of

unfortunate events. In one of this training’s session, we’ll dive in to some etiquette, as we are

professionals who should “think before we click”.

Physical, Mental and Psychosocial well-being is a necessary condition for any human being

to realize their full potential and to lead fulfilling, healthy and productive lives. People whose

holistic well-being is healthy are confident, have self-esteem, feel safe, and are able to solve

problems, make decisions, build positive social relationships, work together and resolve conflicts

in this present times. There is an immense need to conduct awareness seminar to teachers with

regards to these aspects in order to live full and productive lives deem necessary.

Lastly, they say no man is an island, thus the need for collaboration and cooperation. Peer

observation and demonstration teaching will enable teachers to learn from one another. It is a

developmental learning opportunity that contributes to creating a professional community and

will collectively build efficacy. With this, the sharing of classroom best practices and strategies

will be very helpful for the teaching community.
