ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
I. TITLE: TRAINER’S TRAINING ON PARENT EFFECTIVENESS SERVICE WITH BASIC
GAD ORIENTATION

IV. DATE/DURATION: June 9-11, 2021

V. IMPLEMENTING/UNIT: MSWDO

VI. OBJECTIVE: To capacitate partners at the barangay level and sustain service
accessible.
VII. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY: The Training proper will be conducted for three-days
(live-out training) and to be participated by Daycare Workers and VAWC Officers
of all Barangays.

VIII. HIGHLIGHTS
a. Brief Profiles of Participants
The Trainer’s Training On Parent Effectiveness Service with Basic Gad Orientation was
participated by 23 Child Development Workers and 10 VAWC Officers.

b. The Activity
Around twenty three (23) Child Development Workers and ten (10) VAWC Officers
underwent a three-day parent effectiveness services trainer’s training last June 9-
11,2021, conducted by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office
(MSWDO).
The training seeks to “open channels of communication to reach, inform and support
eh vase majority of parents,” it was known.
After the seminar, the parents and parent substitutes should re-echo their learnings
to barangay constituents, including techniques and methods, knowledge, attitude
and skills on parenting.
The seminar delved on the Filipino family, challenges of parenting, child
development, health and nutrition, home management, healthy environment.
The rights and responsibilities of children and their parents were also thoroughly
looked into, as with their needs and entitlement.
Resource persons include SWA Ritchie P. Dang-it, PDO II Janice B. Valdez and Engr.
Domingo E. Marzan,Jr.There were sessions on “Building children’s positive behavior
and “Keeping your child safe from abuse.” The need for family support network
composed of friends or relatives, if abuse is suspected is pointed out. These are

people willing to listen, believe, explore options, encourage and take action for the
oppressed
Reporting and referrals are important for those abused or need help, the resource
persons emphasized. Same is recommended for trafficked children/persons,
maltreated or neglected.
Mayor Joe P. Goropse who delivered the inspirational message said effective
parenting starts with divine thanksgiving and care for the self, sharing and
development of positive values and character in the home.
The seminar ended Friday afternoon with a positive note that each attendee shares
their learnings to the community.

c. Problems/Issues/Recommendations
1. Due to COVID-19 limited attendees are catered.
2. More trainings are needed for the VAWC Officers and Child Development Workers
