Narrative Report on
NATIONAL WOMEN'S MONTH CELEBRATION 2024
Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas:
Kakayahan ng Kababaihan Patutunayan

Every March, the world bursts forth in a celebration of remarkable


women. It's a time to acknowledge the trailblazers, the innovators, the everyday
heroes who have shaped our history and continue to push boundaries. This
year, the theme of Women's Month resonates more than ever: Lipunang Patas
sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan Patutunayan

Whether it's celebrating the achievements of women in science,


technology, engineering, and math (STEM), amplifying the voices of
marginalized women, or advocating for equal opportunities in the workplace,
Women's Month serves as a powerful platform for progress.

Throughout the month, Angono Elementary School embarked on a


journey of pushing for the transformation of gender norms and culture towards
an inclusive society. Hosted variety of events designed to Inspire women and
girls to empower themselves. From inspiring talks and workshops to thought-
provoking discussions and artistic expressions done by the talented learners
from all grade levels. There was something for all our teachers.

In reference to Division Memorandum SGOD-2024-006 and Presidential


Proclamations No. 224, 227, s. 1988 and Republic Act No. 6949 s. 1990 and in
reference to PCW Memorandum Circular No. 2024-02: Guide for the 2024
National Women’s Month Celebration,Angono Elementary School joined in the
observance of 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with the
theme: Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan
Patutunayan from March 1- 31, 2024.

The NWMC aims to inform and engage women and everyone in pushing
for the transformation of gender norms and culture towards an inclusive society

highlight the collaborative efforts of government agencies and the private sector
in addressing poverty and strengthening financial institutions to bridge gender
gaps, advocating for social protection systems, and enhancing access to public
services and sustainable infrastructure for women and girls, provide platforms
to share good practices and address gaps, challenges, and commitments in
pursuing gender and development (GAD), further strengthening the
implementation of the Magna Carta of Women toward its milestone 15th year
this 2024, and inspire women and girls to empower themselves and take on
leadership roles, opportunities, and benefits toward maximizing their full
potential and enabling them to reap the fruits of gender equality, and promote
a society that ensures inclusion, protection of fundamental freedoms, diversity,
and social justice, in which every individual, each with rights and
responsibilities, is capacitated and encouraged to take an active role in playing.

With this, Angono ES conducted series of activities in compliance with


the suggested activities to be conducted given by the NWMC organization.
Poster Making Contest for Grades 1 and 2, Slogan Making Contest Grades 3
and 4, Essay Writing Contest for Grade 5, Poem Writing Contest Grade 6,
Coloring Contest Kinder and LSEN, Hanging of Banner of 2024 Women’s
Month Celebration, and Purple Friday for all Teaching and Non- Teacher
Personnel.

The culminating activity was done on March 22, 2024 at the Angono ES
ground. The closing program started with an Opening prayer lead by Ma’am
Irine Joves , followed by the singing of the National Anthem lead by Ma’am
Jennifer Lacap. Dr. Edith S. Mato, the school principal welcomed all the
participants, and the invited guest speakers with her inspirational message,
followed by the reading of the statement of purpose of the program by Dr. Wenie
DC. Ananca, GAD Master Teacher In-Charge.

There were invited guest speakers to give inspiration and information


about Violence Against Women and their Children. Shared their experiences
that can inspire and motivate our women on how we can empower ourselves.
Last March 22, 2024, Friday, all teachers of Angono ES had the privilege to be

trained first by Maria Ruth M. Deloritos (Planning Officer 2-Angono LGU/GAD


Focal Person) in the morning. She gave teachers information on the Violence
Against Women and Their Children under RA9262. Engineer Deloritos
discussed the different violence a perpetrator can commit under RA9262 such
as the Physical Violence, Sexual Violence, Psychological Violence, and
Economic Abuse. She also answered some queries thrown by teachers. Mrs.
Hilda Ross, a beauty consultant did some trainings to the teachers on Hairstyle,
Manicure and Pedicure, and even gave away free mani-pedi and hairstyling kit
that can be used in the application after, together with her staff. Likewise, Mr.
Michael Comia, a graduate of Angono ES was also there to share some
inspirational experiences that became a huge inspiration to take an active role
in Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children. Another advocate of the
RA9262 was Ms. Ruby Rose Lachica and Ms. Joan R. Cortez, both Licensed
Financial Advisor who discussed and educate the teachers on the financial
literacy which will help our women become financial independent from and live
a better and happier life. Moreover, a massage therapist, Rogel Malicdem,
together with his massage team came and gave free massage to all the
teachers. This massage session aimed to relax the mind and body of our
teachers from the tiring work they do every day.

The closing ceremony ended with the awarding of the certificate of


recognition appreciation and participation. Closing remarks was
enthusiastically given by Sir Johnie Olorvida with a self a composed poem cited
dedicated to all the teachers of Angono Elementary School. Everyone was glad
and satisfied from the workshops and privileges given to the teachers.
