As enshrined and mandated under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Section 13: The
state recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and shall promote and
protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being. It will
cultivate nationalism and patriotism in young people and promote their involvement
in public and civic issues. DO Memo No. 175, S. 2021. The Student Leadership
Development Program states that the Schools Division Office, through the School
Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) and its Youth Formation Division (YFD),
will conduct the World Youth Skills Day as part of its continuing effort to celebrate
the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment,
decent work and entrepreneurship to create more efficient leaders. The Supreme
Student Government continuously promotes the development and empowerment of
our learners as they play a vital role in developing our country, moving towards
progress, bringing social reform, and determining the future of our nation.
II. OBJECTIVES
● To raise awareness about the significance of World Youth Skills Day and its role in promoting youth
employability.
● To promote skill development as a means to enhance youth employability and entrepreneurship
opportunities.
● To provide a platform for renowned experts and successful entrepreneurs to share insights, knowledge,
and experiences with the youth audience.
● To foster a global network of young individuals interested in skills development and entrepreneurship.
● To facilitate discussions and provide practical guidance to address the challenges faced by youth in the
job market.
