Rehabilitation Movement (1940-1960)

demand for Occupational Therapist.

OT in the Philippines (1840-1860)
 Andre Roche –
A French therapist who introduced

at PCAU 1 General Hospital.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Aspuria was*
accepted for scholarship in BS OT at
Milwaukee Downer College in Wisconsin.

Conchita Abad was granted a
fellowship by the National
Orthopedic Hospital to study OT in
Philadelphia.
 1949 – Dr. Jose Mendoza
Charlotte Aspuria graduated with a
H. Pitog
degree of BSOT and became the 1st
Filipino certified OT. Fe Isaac-Sano
Conchita Abad
 1950 –
Abad and Aspuria returned after  1973 –
obtaining a certificate in OT. 1st Board of Examination for OT
yielded a 100% passing rate.
Fe Sano was practicing a form of OT  Dr. Ofelia Reyes (1986) –
focusing on the rehab of She founded the Association of

Dr. Henry Kessler was sent to
