Introduction & deffinition of Culture

The world, our home. Oh beautiful, rich and intriguing place. The planet Earth provides us
unique gifts to every country, and each of us, depending on our particular characteristics,
construe our own reality and version of life.

From my point of view, culture involves education as an important element. Since we are
little, we are taught to behave in a way that the society who surround us accepts as the
correct one. This guidance is the one that will form us as people, and also will determine
the language, customs, traditions and even what we consider as art.

Each part of the world is recognized by some particular characteristics that the people
have in common and share every day. Thanks to globalization, we need to have CULTURAL
AWARENESS to be concious and open-minded when we meet with another culture that
shares different values or manners than the ones we are used to.

According to Tyler (1870), culture is a complex whole because of multiethnicity and as

stated by Kroeber and Kluckhohn (1952), culture is a guide of behavior that consists of
reapeted actions acquired and transmitted by symbols. Habits are the reflection of our
culture because we live them in a natural process by observing, doing and reapeating
them; in this learning process we develop habits unconsciously with our family and then
we teach them.

Culture is the way we build human groups and it is interesting to approach that diversity
that connects us as human beings, despite the differences we have.
