During Racing:
Repairs:
There will be breaks in-between races. During this period of time, it would be good to
do a visual check of all karts (including spares). There will be an ample amount of
spare engines so ensure you only engine swap when absolutely required. Any
issues to do with stuttering karts, do a carburettor swap first before attempting
anything drastic.
Ensure that when you finish an engine swap, that you perform a speed check on the
kart that was just engine swapped. Consistency and Accuracy is vital when
performing speed checks.
Be mindful of the timing system. Ensure that the timing system is still recording laps.
In the event of a failure, switch to Orange light, copy down results onto paper
ensuring that kart number and laps are recorded accordingly and manually input
after resetting the program. Ensure the exact amount of laps and the placings are
recorded for the respective teams.
Swapping Karts:
In the event that a kart breaks down, please use the method listed (DO NOT USE
COPY AND PASTE METHOD AS THIS COULD CAUSE THE TIMING SYSTEM TO
CRASH):
This method could possibly reduce the likelihood of the “rentix.exe” error occurring.
Have a marshall on standby by the Crow’s nest i.e. if a Marshall wants a break from
watching karts, they can sit up at the Crow’s Nest and deduct and swap karts out as
needed.
Speed Checks:
It is expected that all drivers abide by the rules set out by Extreme Indoor Karts, the
marshalling staff and the race directors/organiser. Any major breaches of rules and
inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with immediately. In extreme cases such as
threatening or assault, the driver will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
Shut down:
After all racing is completed, supervisors are to make sure that all necessary repairs
are written up as accurately as possible. Any engines that require repair, symptoms
are to be written up as accurately as possible. Staff must drive the karts prior to
leaving for the night. Please be mindful that the following day may or may not be
potentially a busy shift.
Sunday morning:
If the morning shift is quiet, it is expected that any karts left to repair are to be
repaired ASAP. Take advantage of the relative quiet periods in the first few hours of
the morning and ensure that the karts are in good working condition for any
customers who have booked or have walked in during or later on in the day.
